CRITERIA AND MECHANICS
Yell Competition
Mechanics:
1. The competition shall be participated by at least 10 and a maximum of 15 pupils.
2. The use of Vulgar Language is prohibited and will be subject to disqualification.
3. The use of sound and music is allowed. However, the yell must be audible, and not
be overpowered by the sounds.
4. The use of props is allowed. Performers then are expected to clear the performance
area after their respective performance.
5. The minimum length of the performance is 180 seconds and a maximum of 5
minutes including the entrance and exit. Every exceeding second will get a one (1)
point deduction from the total score.
6. The decision of the board of judges shall be final and non-appealable.
Criteria:
Creativity – 30%
Relevance of the theme – 30%
Clarity of Voice – 20%
Mastery – 20%
Total – 100%
Poster Making Contest
Mechanics:
1. Participants will be given 2 hours only to finish their works.
2. Each participant should submit one entry only.
3. The poster must illustrate, interpret, and emphasize the theme of the SciMath
Celebration: “Science and Mathematics Towards a Shared Vision: Exploring the
Future for a Better Tomorrow,”
4. The following materials will be used in the contest:
A 1/8 illustration board (to be provided by the participants)
Coloring materials (to be provided by the participants)
The poster must be done in free hand
The artist will be held accountable to any issues that may arise with regards
to the originality and authenticity to the design
The venue of the contest: Acacia Hall
The poster will be judged according to the following criteria:
Creativity and Presentation – 40%
Originality – 30%
Relevance to the theme – 30%
Total – 100%
Debate (English and Filipino) For Secondary only
Mechanics:
1. Three (3) participants shall comprise a team
2. Each team shall make an argumentative essay on both the AFFIRMATIVE (AFF) and
NEGATIVE (NEG) sides of a given motion. The medium to be used will be in Filipino /
English.
3. In arguing for the AFF and NEG, the following must be presented in essay:

AFF stand and at least three well-constructed cases/situations/examples
to forward the Stand taken, answering the Benefit, necessity and
practically of the Stand.
4. The essay will be evaluated based on the following:
MATTER 40% (The components are logical and relevant)
METHOD 20% (The components are responsiveness and structure)
5. After the judging of the case-building speech/essays, two (2) teams will fight for the
Manner battle referred as the 7-minute challenge until two teams will be left for the
final battle. This will test the team’s ability to speak out their ideas using the case-
building speech/essay which they have made.
6. Teams will be given three (3) minutes to prepare for a group speech of 7 minutes.
The members will decide in the team split. They will decide who will open the
speech, who will do the speech on benefits, necessity, and practicability and who
gets to conclude the speech.
7. The scoring of Manner will be between 0-40% which will be added to their previous
scores on Matter and Method.
Extemporaneous Speech (For Secondary Only)
Mechanics:
1. The topic shall be given by the assigned facies and be given before the competition
2. The contestants shall be given fifteen (15) minutes to prepare and a minimum of 4
to 5 minutes to deliver.
3. The contestants are not allowed to have any gadgets. Instead, contestants shall be
allowed to use a pen and a notebook.
4. Timer accessible to the contestant judges and audience shall be provided.
5. The style of the delivery shall be conversational, oratorical or a combination of both.
*dramatic style is considered disqualified
6. Use of sound effects and props are not allowed.
Slogan Making Contest
Mechanics:
1. Only one (1) contestant per team is eligible to join the contest.
2. Only one (1) entry per contestant is allowed
3. The slogan should revolve around the theme“Science and Mathematics Towards a
Shared Vision: Exploring the Future for a Better Tomorrow,”
4. The slogan shall be in Filipino (national language), which must be catchy, simple,
and clear.
5. The slogan shall consists of five to 10 (5-10) words only. A compound word will be
considered as one word example: kapit-bahay
6. The material to write on shall be provided by the organizers. Contestant shall bring
their own marking pen.
7. The allotted time for the contest is one (1) hour after which all entries shall be
submitted his/her slogan earlier without waiting for the lapse of one (1) hour.
8. Each slogan shall be identified by a number that corresponds to the numbers and
identify of the contestant for the judging process.
9. Judging shall be based on the following criteria:
Originality / Freshness of idea: 40%
Relevance to the theme: 40%

SAYAWIT Competition
Mechanics:
1. The group of performance shall only consist of 10-15 performers.
2. Performance shall only be within 4-6 minutes including the entrance and exit.
3. The audio shall be provided by the contestants two (2) days prior to the contests.
4. Props shall only be portable or are able to be carried.
5. Inappropriate messages, paid choreographers outside the school, ineligible
compositions, use of foul actions and words may result in disqualifications.
Criteria:

Timeliness – 10%
Creativity and Originality – 20%
Performance – 40%
Relevance – 10%
Speech Choir
Mechanics:
1. The group of performances shall only consist of 10-20 performers consisting of
props men, instrument players and performers.
2. Performance shall only be within 5-7 minutes including the entrance and exit
3. Props may also be non-portable and portable
4. Inappropriate messages, paid choreographers outside the school, ineligible
compositions, use of foul actions and words may result in disqualifications.

SciMath - Quiz Bee
Mechanics:
1. Group Competition (Each team is composed of 4 pupils)
2. A total of 20 questions shall be given in a quiz bowl, divided into 3 rounds: Easy (10
questions), Average (5 questions), and Difficult Round (5 questions).
3. An official quiz master will read the question and time limit, and will give the signal
for the participants to raise their answer. Timing will begin only after reading the
question with the “Go Signal”.
4. They must write their answer on the provided board and raise their answer before
the end of the time limit. Otherwise, they shall be considered as having no answer
to the question.
5. After the limit, the answer shall be read and the Quiz Master shall announce the
correct answer.
6. During the contest proper, participants must in their complete uniform.

7. Easy Round – 10 questions, 10 seconds (1point/correct answer); Average Round – 5
questions, 15 seconds (2points/correct answer); Difficult Round – 5 questions, 20
seconds (3points/correct answer).

Based on total score across rounds

Sci-Math Jingle
Mechanics
1. The contest is open to all officially enrolled students, grouped by grade level.
2. Each grade level shall be represented by one (1) team composed of five (5) to eight
(8) members.
3. Entries may be in the form of:
An original composition (lyrics and melody), or
An adaptation of a familiar tune with newly written lyrics.
4. The lyrics must be aligned with the official theme:
“Science and Mathematics Towards a Shared Vision: Exploring the Future for a
Better Tomorrow.”
5. The lyrics should emphasize the value, applications, and relevance of Science and
Mathematics in everyday life and in shaping the future.
6. Each presentation shall not exceed three (3) minutes in duration.
7. Any musical genre may be utilized (e.g., pop, rap, folk, etc.), provided that the
performance is wholesome and appropriate for a school audience.
8. Performances may be accompanied by live instruments, A cappella, or
minus-one/backing track; however, pre-recorded vocals are strictly prohibited.
9. The use of costumes and props is permitted but should remain simple and not
overshadow the content of the jingle.
10.Any use of offensive language, gestures, or inappropriate content will result in
automatic disqualification.
11.The decision of the Board of Judges shall be deemed final and irrevocable.
