Student Checklist
Read the task instructions carefully.
Complete the cultural research project.
Work on your self-introduction infographic.
Submit both tasks by the deadline.
Prepare to present your self-introduction when the teacher returns(obviooo!).

Task 1: Explorando el mundo hispano


Objective: Learn more about Spanish-speaking countries and explore aspects of
language and culture.

Example:

Day 1: Choose Your Country – Elige tu país


- Pick one Spanish-speaking country from the provided list.
- Find its location on a map.
- Note the capital city, population, and neighboring countries.
- List the official language(s), currency, and one national holiday.
- Was it always a Spanish speaking country? (Brief history)

Day 2: Explore Culture – Discubre la cultura


- Search for:
- 2 famous people from the country (artists, athletes, leaders, etc.)
- Common greetings and how to say 'hello', 'goodbye', 'thank you', etc.
- Popular dance forms/art.
- Any interesting or unique expressions/slang in Spanish from that region.
- One fun cultural fact or tradition.

Day 3: Organize Your Information – Organiza tu información


- Start making a short presentation (poster, slideshow, or infographic).
- Make it simple, clear, and visual. Use keywords in Spanish (Example: Food –
Comida, País – country; use www.spanishdict.com )
- You may use English, but include any Spanish words or phrases you discover.

Day 4: Reflect and Finalize


- Finalize your presentation.
- Reflect on what you learned and answer:
¿Cómo influyó tu conocimiento del país el aprendizaje de Español?
(How did learning about the country influence your view on Spanish?)

Task 2: Infographic – Todo sobre mí


Objective: Create a small visual introduction about yourself in Spanish using simple
vocabulary and sentence starters.

Suggested Sentences:
• Me llamo...
• Tengo ... años.
• Soy de...
• Vivo en...
• Me gusta... / No me gusta...
• Mi comida favorita es...
• En mi tiempo libre, yo...

Word Wall (to help you choose ideas):


colores, animales, comida, deportes, familia, países, actividades, adjetivos
(simpático, divertido), lugares (escuela, casa)

Be ready to present your findings and yourself (briefly) on the 8th of August!
Note: If this is your first time doing Spanish or you’re finding the self-presentation task a
little difficult, you can use any of these templates.
