Procedure for Online Payment of Traffic
Challan
1 Getting Started
Following points and guidelines may be referred while accessing the E-Challan
payment application:
Online payment facility is provided for certain category of traffic offences.
Before proceeding to pay, please see the list of traffic offences for which
online payment is accepted.
Online Payment is not accepted for Non-compoundable offences
(punishment decided by court) and for offences for which Driving Licence is
required is to be seized for suspension proceedings.
Valid Driving Licence is needed for payment of fine
Payment of fine is accepted through all digital modes.
Check your e-challan before payment.
2 Steps for online payment of fine
STEP 1:
Go to the website of Chandigarh Traffic Police (https://www.chandigarhtrafficpolice.gov.in)
Home page will display as given below.

STEP 2:
Select the online payment option in the “Services” tab as shown below:
STEP 3:
The General details and Payment Details will populate.

STEP 4:
Click the link “Online Payment Gateway” after going through all the instructions regarding
online post challan.
STEP 5:
User will be redirected to the E-Challan Dashboard https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/index/accused-
challan as shown below.
Enter Login credentials i.e. Vehicle Number, Last 5 character of Chassis Number or Engine
Number and Captcha code

STEP 6:
Click the link to “Challan Print” to view the traffic challan and to verify other details.
STEP 7:
All challans issued against the vehicle number entered will be displayed on the screen.

STEP 8:
You can pay online fine through payment gateway by clicking “Pay Now” option,
which will be displayed as shown below.
STEP 9:
At this stage your driving license will be verified online.
Enter the detail of your Driving License, Date of Birth and valid Mobile Number to get
one-time-password (OTP) for authentication. Do not share the OTP with anyone.

STEP 10: -
After completing verification process of your driving license via one-time password,
the message as shown below will appear.
STEP 11:
By clicking OK button, screen will be automatically redirected to the e-Vahan portal of
the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. Select the “e-
Sampark” payment gateway and click on terms and conditions tab to proceed further.

STEP 12:
Choose the payment method to proceed further.
STEP 13:
After successful payment, you will get transition ID as shown below:

STEP 14: In order to verify challan payment, re-visit
https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/index/accused-challan and click on the “verify” tab as
shown below.

STEP 15: After verification, click on “Receipt” to view/download/print the receipt for the
paid challan as shown below:
