Chapter 1

LinkedIn Optimization Easy Guide

INTRODUCTION

You have probably heard the word “LinkedIn” used by your colleagues at work, friends in
school, or maybe from a speaker during a seminar which you attended asking you to
connect with them. You may have gone ahead to think to yourself, “what are these folks
talking about?” Perhaps, you out of sheer curiosity, decided to look it up on Google, only for
you to stumble upon a blog article that talked extensively about that, after a few scrolls, you
clicked an anchor text or link, then unto the next until you clicked an external link that lead
you straight to a “complex” looking platform - LinkedIn.

On getting there, you must have noticed that everyone seemed so serious. No time for
“jokes”! It was either you had an accomplishment to showcase and tell the world about
or nothing. You must have said to yourself, “I do not belong here.”
The picture painted above often times explains why a lot of folks are not on LinkedIn
today, and for the majority who brandish a LinkedIn profile, more than half are with either
dormant or unoptimized profiles – a situation said to be synonymous with not having a
LinkedIn profile at all.

If your case is similar to what was illustrated above, then worry not as this masterpiece is
designed to allay your fears and correct your misconceptions about LinkedIn. After reading
through this really concise e-book, LinkedIn Optimization Easy Guide, you should find place
easily on the platform.

What is LinkedIn?

With over 500 million registered users and more than 260 million monthly active users,
LinkedIn has grown to become a go-to social networking site for businesses and
professionals.

It affords users the opportunity to meet industry professionals, form relationships, and
build audiences or fans by consistently sharing valuable content. For businesses, LinkedIn is
a good place for brand presence building by creating a company page and running ads.

6|P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
However, it is important you understand that success on LinkedIn does not happen over the
night. It requires consistent valuable inputs from you. As a marketer, your success on the
platform will largely depend on your ability to produce results and actionable insights – only
then can the value of your efforts be proven.

LinkedIn is about selective connection with people and organization in your target market
or audience, unlike other social media platforms where it is believed that the more
followers you amass the better. LinkedIn has some peculiar features that make it easy to
find people in your industry and to also keep an eye on your competitors for better
research about them.

You will also find a lot of groups devoted specific professional topics like entrepreneurship,
branding, digital marketing et al, on the platform. If you join the right groups and actively
participate in discussions, they can help you a great deal to gain recognition as an authority.

The LinkedIn advanced features also help you to find your potential customers and allow
you gather valuable feedback about any new idea or product that has just been launched –
this also will make your potential customers feel valued.

Also, LinkedIn is good for home-based business owners, freelancers and telecommuters
because it can help them build their business and career, as well as help them stay
connected to the world outside them. LinkedIn not only enables you to network and build
your professional portfolio, but also allows you to go out into the world and look for a new
job. A lot of employers and recruiters these days who are looking for job candidates use
LinkedIn as the best platform. So, if you as a job candidate are not on the platform, then
you should jump in right away given this revelation.

Chapter 2

Benefits of LinkedIn

LinkedIn has a lot of opportunities for everyone who is interested. Whether you are a
professional, business, student or someone looking forward to building a strong personal
brand, LinkedIn is right for you. In this Chapter, we will talk about the numerous benefits of
LinkedIn as they apply to students, professionals and businesses. We consider this
necessary in order to enable you define your objectives before getting on the platform.

Benefits of LinkedIn for Students

Given the endless benefits being able to connect directly with professionals through
LinkedIn brings, it has become increasingly disadvantageous for any career conscious
university or college student not to be found on LinkedIn.

It is encouraged that you begin networking as early as your first year in college on LinkedIn.
This can make it easier for you to find jobs even before you graduate from college. Sadly,
more university or college students prefer spending their time and energy on other social
networking sites with little to no direct professional value for their time there.

Of all the social networking sites we have, LinkedIn clearly stands out in its ability to
help you define your skills and experience, which in turn makes it easier for you to build
your professional and personal brand, while at the same time giving you the opportunity
to display your experience and skills to the world. LinkedIn gives you a global presence.

Below are some top benefits students can get from using LinkedIn by having an
optimized presence and connecting with professionals.

1. Conducting Company Research

This is one of the biggest benefits of LinkedIn as applies to students. By being on the
platform, students are at liberty to check out the pages of their target company or
organization of interest. Visiting their pages will allow you conduct research on them: their
whereabouts, their hiring process and people’s opinions about them. Not only does this
put you ahead of your competition in the job search market, but also increases your
employability.

8|P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
2. Getting Internship
Interning with your target company is one great way to gain entry into that company.
Internship is very important for you as a student as it gives you the opportunity to job-
shadow to gain actual industry experience. So, if you are able to turn the connection
you build on LinkedIn into an opportunity, the implication is that you can easily get
internship offers or placements.

The way to go about doing this is to first identify your target company, then go ahead
and connect with their top executives via the platform.

As a rule of thumb, we always encourage that you only connect when you are sure of your
objectives so you do not waste that opportunity. You could connect, for instance, to
nurture a relationship for a specified period of time to the effect of an anticipated job or
internship opportunity. That could be your objective.

3. Getting Job Email Alerts

LinkedIn allows you to set email alerts so they can send you notifications about
recommended jobs based on your interest (but it is optional). This notification is also
shown on your profile dashboard as you log in on LinkedIn. The notification icon is a very
prominent one.

4. Getting Recommendations
There is a feature on LinkedIn that allows you to get other users within your connection to
write recommendations about you. You will learn how to do this in subsequent chapters.

Since recommendations are essentially what others have to say about you, with a maximum
number of recommendations, you will increase your chances of getting the attention of
employers and increase your employability.

5. Companies will easily find you

This benefit is directly linked to how optimized your presence on the platform is. Without
an optimized profile, your chances of getting found are low.

Most companies look out for candidates who are talented or have the right skill set through
social media sites. So, a good and highly optimized profile will draw them to you and grant
you easy access.

Would it not be nice if you get invited by your target company for job interview the job
position you have always shown interest in, without you having to reach out to them first?

9|P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
6. Connecting with Professionals

Just like other social media platforms, LinkedIn has successfully brought the world together
on one platform, making connectivity easier with one another. However, it is even better
on LinkedIn as it allows you connect directly with professionals. Connecting with
professionals is not any difficult as all you have to do is send a connection request and
await their response (which in most cases is positive for an optimized profile).

Benefits of LinkedIn for Professionals

LinkedIn was designed for connecting professionals. You are probably wondering what is in
it for you as a professional. Just as you keep your resume updated with the latest job and
skill details, it is equally important you keep your LinkedIn profile updated as a professional.
There are number of benefits LinkedIn has got to offer professionals as we will see shortly.

1. Making Valuable Business Connections

A particular feature we find really interesting on LinkedIn is that you are at liberty to choose
whom to connect with. You can connect with employers, past co-workers, and big
companies’ executives. You can connect with people you never thought you could connect
with, and you never know how far these connections can take you .

2. Building a Strong Personal Brand

LinkedIn is a great platform for establishing your personal brand. The platform allows to
share contents based on your expertise and join groups of like-minded individuals. By
consistently sharing valuable contents in regard with your expertise, you well stand out
as an authority in your field. This will in turn enhance your visibility and draw quality
connections to you.

3. Receiving and Giving Endorsements

Because you have built a personal brand already in regard with your profession, you will
get tons of requests from your connections asking for endorsements. You too can in turn
ask them for endorsements. These endorsements are like testimonials about you.
Interestingly, people who search for connections to network with and job candidates will
take these endorsements into account.

10 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
4. Recruiters and Human Resources Professionals can be found on LinkedIn
The point is prospective employers will check you out online. 70% of employers have
been said to have rejected candidates because of the information they found about
them online. Interestingly, 85% of employers believe a positive online reputation
influences their hiring decision.

What is the point? People who are hiring are on LinkedIn and are looking at your profile.
It is believed every serious professional looking for a job should be on LinkedIn.

5. Joining Professional Groups

There are tons of groups on LinkedIn which you can join based on your interest and field.
These are groups where you get to meet like-minded professionals like you with whom you
can network. Based on your relationship with these networks, you can even contact them
directly. This is a really interesting part about LinkedIn – it allows you network with people
you may never meet naturally.

Also, contributing to group discussions or topics will further position you as an expert
in your professional field.

P.S.: The above benefits listed as they apply to professionals on LinkedIn are not exhaustive.
However, we consider them some of the most important benefits to professionals. As you
begin using the platform more, you would discover the other benefits.

11 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
Benefits of LinkedIn for Businesses

There are a lot of benefits for businesses on LinkedIn. However, to leverage these benefits
creating a company page or a page for your business is the first step. This page provides
your business with the opportunity to tell your story, build and engage with your
followers, share career opportunities, and quickly expand your earned media marketing
(word of mouth).

In order for you to be able to encourage your audience to make contact with your
company thereby enhancing your company’s brand perception, you need to ensure your
company page is informative, visually appealing, free of errors and well managed by an
administrator assigned by your company or you if you are sole proprietor. In other words,
your page must be highly optimized. You will learn how to optimize your company’s
LinkedIn page in the subsequent pages.

Below are some other benefits of LinkedIn for businesses.

1. Lead Generation
As we had earlier shown, LinkedIn gives you the opportunity to connect easily, and these
folks with whom you network are your potential clients. Ensure you keep your company
page up to date with relevant information and position your company as a valuable
resource to your connections and followers. It will not be long before they begin to see
your company as a subject expert on your services. Guess what that means for your
business?
They will think of you when they eventually need you.

2. Increased Brand Visibility

You LinkedIn page is a great way to draw attention to your business, if it is optimized. An
optimized page has the potential to show up pop up when people search for your
business on Google, including searches within LinkedIn.

3. Show Off Your Accomplishment

Showing off your company’s accomplishments on LinkedIn helps to solidify the story you
are telling about your business. It makes your prospects and customers feel they are part of
the process. It shows the human side of your business.
The implication overtime is increased trust with potential customers and clients.

12 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
4. Increased Credibility for Your Brand
Another yet very important way to gain trust with your customers and prospects
on LinkedIn is by showcasing or displaying your products and services.

Another feature to leverage for this purpose is the “Recommendation” feature. This is
just another name for reviews. The more reviews you have from people who have
previously dealt with your business, the more the opportunity you have to generate more
leads and sales (conversion).

5. Narrowed Search Results

Everyone obviously is not your customer. Effective marketing lies in your ability to target the
ideal prospects for your business so you do not waste marketing efforts and burn
advertising dollars.

LinkedIn makes it easy by giving you a narrowed group of search options you can use
to improve your marketing data, especially your target demographics.

Chapter 3

LinkedIn Optimization Step-By-Step Guide

Having an optimized profile or company page is the first step in building a brand
on LinkedIn. But what does LinkedIn Optimization mean?

LinkedIn Optimization simply means adding up-to-date information about your experience
and achievements if you are a professional, and addition up-to-date information about your
company if you are a business. The objective is to increase your presence or enhance your
visibility on the platform.

So, in this chapter, we will cover the steps involved in creating an optimized
LinkedIn personal and company profiles respectively.

P.S.: Before you can optimize your company profile, your personal profile has to first
be optimized.

How to Optimize your Personal LinkedIn Profile

1. Create a LinkedIn Profile:

To do this, visit https://www.linkedin.com. Then click Join now since you do not have
an account (but click Sign in if you have an account set up already). You will be taken
into another webpage where you will be asked to fill in your details. Please set up a
strong password (one with characters, numbers and alphabet is advised).
After filling in your details, next click Agree and Join.

14 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
2. Optimize Your Profile Photo (and Background Image), and URL.
Great photos are necessary if you are going to make a great first impression as far
LinkedIn is concerned. LinkedIn is not a place where you post just any casual photo.

Almost everyone judges by appearance, right? Including recruiters and prospects who visit
your LinkedIn profile.

You could send the wrong signal with the wrong profile picture and cover or background
photo.

First, to choose the right background image, size is very important.

The official or recommended LinkedIn background image size is 1584 x 396p (p stands for
pixel). However, this will only come out well on a desktop or a PC, but will have some
parts cropped out on a mobile phone or smaller screen.
So, for your background image to come out well, use an image size of 1000 x 140p.

For your choice of photo, as much as possible avoid generic stock photos or images. They
do not present you well and most people visiting your profile can tell by just looking at it
that it is not authentic.

Below are some ideas for your LinkedIn background image

• Your office (probably showing you at work)

• Your products or you delivering your services.
• A poster with your credentials and achievements

15 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
• A banner with a call to action which could include your contact details, asking visitors
to reach out to you.

For your profile photo, ensure you use a high-quality headshot with good lighting, and
with a size of at least 200 x 200p. A picture with dimensions less than 200 x 200p should be
avoided, else it will become blurry.

Some ideas for your LinkedIn profile photo

• Use plenty of light

• Dress formal or the way you would dress to work
• A plain, neutral background is preferred
• Your face should take up over 50% of the frame
• Try and ensure your eyes are in the top third of the picture

Customize your Profile URL. This will make it easier to tell people how to find you online.
A custom URL will reflect your full name.

To customize your profile URL, click the Me icon at the top right corner of your
LinkedIn homepage.

Select View Profile, and then click Edit Public Profile & URL on the right. Go ahead and
enter your full name without spaces. If you have a generic name, for example, Gabriel
Williams, try adding middle name so you do not end up optimizing for the wrong
identity. Then click Save when you are done.

16 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
3. Get Your Name Right!
When people (especially recruiters or your business networks) want to search for you on
LinkedIn, it is your name they would type. So, it is important you choose your name right.

An example of a wrong name format is shown below

It is not an ideal format because when people who want to check your LinkedIn profile type
in your name in the search panel, chances are your profile will not show up in the search
result, because LinkedIn algorithm will not recognize the academic qualification,
certifications, or professional titles after your name.

So, a good name format would be the one below

17 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
Optimize your headline.

Your headline appears directly under your name. You headline is very important as it is
your first shot at actually selling yourself. In addition, your headline is highly searchable and
visible, and has a character limit of 120, and it is for a reason. So, ensure you use valuable
keywords that your target audience often uses.

In addition, list your most relevant areas of expertise and skills. Again, remember this is
one of the first things people will see on their search result page.

An example of a good headline is shown below

One thing you would notice about the headline above is the owner of that profile is a
digital marketer. Hence, those keywords you see there.

Now, to edit your headline, click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage, then
select View Profile. On your profile page, click the Edit icon, and an Edit Intro dialog box
will appear where you can enter new content for your introduction. Click Save when you are
done.

18 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
4. Fill Out Your Contact Information
It is always encouraged that you fill out your contact and personal information as it results
in increased visibility.

To optimize this area, change the default contact labels (such as “Company Website” or
“Personal”) to reflect keywords that your target audience will likely use to find your
product or services. For example, you might change your website label to “Digital Marketing
Agency” or “Williams’ Beauty Spa.”

To add your contact information and customize those labels, again, click the Me icon at
the top right corner of your LinkedIn profile. Select View Profile.

Then click Contact Info directly under your headline, a dialog box will appear, click the Edit
Icon. In the Edit Contact Info dialog box that shows up, click Add Website, then write or
copy and paste your website address into the field provided for that. Next choose Other
from the drop-down list so you can enter your custom description in the Type (Other)
field. Click Save when you are done.

19 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
5. Now is the Time to Write Your Summary
The right LinkedIn Summary is one of the factors that will determine whether a recruiter will
click on your profile or move on to the next.

Your summary is the first thing they will see after they click. A good LinkedIn summary
will keep them going through your profile for a longer time.

The purpose of your summary is to show off your most relevant skills and achievements
in their priority.

The more distinct and personal your LinkedIn is looks, the better your chances at making
good first impression. While there is no universal standard or template for the best resume,
below are some ideas to help when writing your summary.

20 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
Your summary could take any of the following formats:

• You could come off as the storyteller; this is where you get to paint some
wild pictures about the things you are passionate about.

An example is shown below

21 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
• You could be the creative type; here it is short and energetic.
Here is an example

22 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
• You could also add humour to quickly grab attention.

Check this example below

6. Optimize Your Skills and Endorsement Section.

On LinkedIn you can add up to 50 skills in your skill and endorsement section. However,
while you can add the 50 skills if you so choose, you need to know that only the to 10
skills will appear in the top part of this section.

So, a smart thing to do would be to ensure that the first 10 skills you add are your top
skills. And also, ensure that these skills are keyword-focused. Preferably, choose skills with
high volume search phrases.

PS: When adding your skills, LinkedIn autosuggest algorithm will autosuggest to you as you
write. We encourage that you go for the autosuggested ones instead of entering them
manually.

23 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
How to Optimize Your Skills and Endorsements Section

To add a skill, click the Me icon and the select View Profile. Then scroll down to the Skills
and Endorsements section of your profile and click Add a New Skill. Then type the name
of a skill in the text box, then click Add. You can also rearrange your skills in the order
you want them to be. To do, hover your cursor over the three-line icon on the right, click
and drag to rearrange or reorder skills, when the cursor changes to a Move icon.

24 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
Next, get endorsements or recommendations. AS earlier said, endorsements are very
important on LinkedIn as far your success on the platform is concerned. To get LinkedIn
endorsement, you must be ready to give too. LinkedIn is not a platform where you take
and not give. You must be ready to give something for something.

So as soon as you start building your network, ask your friends, people you have worked,
your colleagues, peers, and even fellow students to write you an endorsement for your
skills. We always advise that you ensure you have endorsed theirs also.

So, to request endorsement, do the following:

Click the Ask to be Recommended link in the top right of the Recommendations
section. Then follow the on-screen prompts to fill out and send your request

25 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
7. Fill up Your Education, Certifications, and Awards
It is important you complete your education information on LinkedIn as it is major
requirement. If you are not a university/college graduate, you can make reference to your
high/secondary school or any vocational institute you may have attended in the past.

To fill up details about your education on your profile, click the + sign in the upper right
of the education section. In the dialog box that shows up, go ahead and enter detail
about your school, degree, studies, and activities.

In addition to your education information, LinkedIn has a special section where you can
show off your accomplishments, certifications, awards, publications, and other
information important to your professional qualification and experience.

26 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
Adding your education, past roles and achievements will help you build credibility. This is
where you get to make a noise about you. Do not be apologetic about it, as it is good for
your personal branding efforts.

To add your accomplishments, click the + sign in the upper right of the Accomplishments
section and select from the list that shows up. After you will see a dialog box that is specific
to your selection, this is where you can enter your relevant details.

8. Communicate and build an audience base

Writing and posting regular updates on your LinkedIn profile is part of the LinkedIn
Optimization efforts. Consistency is key to your surviving on the LinkedIn, just like any
other social media site.

The more content you post, the more visibility LinkedIn rewards you with. You can
boost your visibility by writing long-form articles. Also, when writing, always write in the
first person. This will allow your personality to reflect in your writing.

To open the LinkedIn Publishing tool, click Write an Article at the top of the feed. To edit
your drafts, click the Me icon, Select Posts and Activity, and then select Your Drafts which
can be found under your profile photo on the left.

27 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
Apart from posting your own content, another way to get rewarded with more exposure is by
sharing other people’s content. This way you will more exposure in the LinkedIn feed.

You can also share articles in groups and try to get featured in LinkedIn’s Daily Rundown,
which gets shared via the LinkedIn company page and their other social media platforms.

To ask LinkedIn editors to feature one of your articles, tweet “tip @LinkedInEditors”
along with a link to your article.

9. The next step in optimizing your LinkedIn profile is by growing your

network
Growing your LinkedIn network is no rocket science. It is something anybody should be
able to do. Also, you need to connect with more than 500 people to have an optimized
profile. Having said that, a less than 50 connections is equally not a great way to represent
your personal brand.

A small network may be a negative pointer to the fact that you are not yet an authority.
It may also point to the fact that people do not like you.

To build your network, LinkedIn has a special feature that allows you connect with people
within your industry. It is not to send connection requests to people, be deliberate
enough to send them personal messages and reminders of how you met when they
eventually accept the requests.

Occasionally, you will get random request from people you do not know, but who are in
your industry, as you begin growing your network, ensure you add them also. You can also
grow your network by reaching out to your previous employers, teachers, clients etc.

You can also import your contacts into LinkedIn. To do this, click the My Network icon. Then
on the left, click More Options in the Your Connections area.

At this point you can enter your email address or choose a service provider from which
you want to import the contacts.

Another way to grow your network is by joining relevant groups. In fact, as a new user, this
is best shot at beginning your networking journey. There are all kinds of groups on LinkedIn.

28 | P u b l i c a t i o n o f D i g i t a l F u n n e l
So, you will definitely find groups that relate to your target audience. Through these groups,
you will have access to more people who matter to your business.

We encourage that you start by researching which groups people in your current are in. The
implication is that you may have some interests in common if you are connected.

To do this, begin by searching for groups using keyword or name, then use the search
box at the top of your LinkedIn home page.

After, type your keywords or group names of interest and click Search. Then on the search
result page, go ahead and click the Groups tab.

Then while in these groups, contribute actively to relevant group topics. Once in a
while too, post articles to the groups based on your expertise, but you must be careful
not to spam the group. Then do well to respond and appreciate comments and
feedbacks on your posts.

Chapter 4

LinkedIn Company Page Optimization

Now that you have optimized your personal profile, it is time to create and optimize
your company page. If you do not have a business, then the information on LinkedIn
Personal Profile Optimization will suffice to guarantee your success on the network.

A company page serves the purpose of helping LinkedIn members learn about
your business, your brand, and job opportunities with your company.

Company Pages are also a great way to establish your industry expertise. With your LinkedIn
company page, you can drive brand awareness for your business, achieve optimal business
results, promote career opportunities and provide potential customers with information
about your products and services.

Also, value-driven contents and captivating status updates can help to establish your brand
as an authority within your industry.

To Create a company page, take the following steps below:

1. Click the Work icon in the top right corner of your LinkedIn homepage.
2. Click Create a Company Page. You’ll also select this option to create a
Page for a school.
3. Select the Page type you’d like to create from the following options:
• Small business
• Medium to large business
• Showcase page
• Educational institution (high school or university/college)
4. Enter your Page identity, Company or Institution details, and
Profile details information.
5. Check the verification box to confirm you have the right to act on behalf of
that company or school in the creation of the page.

recently been created.

Step 2: Add a cover image and logo

As you add your cover image, ensure you choose a cover image that perfectly
captures the feel of your business. Image size should be 1536 x 768p

In the placeholder for your profile picture, upload your company logo. This is good
because when your employees or anybody mention the name of your company on
LinkedIn, your logo will pop up, which is really good for your brand’s awareness.
Your logo size should be about 300 x 300p.

PS: LinkedIn data shows that companies with logos get 6 times more traffic to
their pages.

Step 3: Add a Company description

LinkedIn gives you a character count limit of about 2000 to describe what your
company does. We advise that you do not do this alone as it is a very important
part of your company page. Get your marketing team together (or your friends) to
work on this part.

The first 156 characters are particularly important as that is what will appear in
the Google preview of your company page.

Beneath your company description, you are at liberty to add up to 20 company

specialties. These specialties will act as tags or keywords that will help people find
your business easily on LinkedIn. The crux is to ensure your different products,
services, and strengths are well indicated here.

Step 4: Add page administrators

It is not advisable that you manage your page alone, you need to add one or more of
your employees as page administrators. This will make for efficiency in running the
page.

To add administrators, click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn Page,
after choose your company page under the Manage section.

Go ahead and click Admin tools at the top right, then select Page admins. Then
add your team members by their names, but you must already be connected to
them for this to work.
After adding the desired number of admins, click Save changes to finish setting up
your team.

Final Step: Optimize your page

To keep your page engaging, you need to ensure that you post as many times as
possible. Keep your page active with various status updates and various industry
and sometimes non industry related posts.
Also, you must ensure you do not ignore comments. Respond to comments and as
swiftly as possible, including negatives ones (reviews). This will keep your page
active as it earns you more attention.
