AGENDA
Spanning two days, the event is a collaborative problem-solving activity where
teams from different backgrounds will work together to address a specific
challenge. The specific details of the challenge would depend on the context
(e.g., academic, professional, industrial, societal or recreational). Two-day
challenge often incorporate rounds or stages, with the first day potentially
focusing on research, brainstorming, and initial solution development, while the
second day would involve refining solutions, presentations, and judging.
Day 1:
Reporting: 08:30 – 09:30 am : Reporting at the venue and settle down at
located tables.
Research and Brainstorming: 09:30 – 01:00 pm
Introduced to the challenge, its objectives, and the rules. Teams will delve into
the challenge, researching relevant information, brainstorming potential
solutions, and developing initial ideas.
- Mentoring on Empathizing, Defining and Ideation (09:30 am – 10:30 am)
- Break (10:30 am – 11:00 am)
- Team work on challenge (11:00 am – 12:00 pm)
- Evaluation Round-1 (12:00 pm – 01:00 pm)
- Break (01:00 pm – 02:00 pm)
Solution Development: 02:00 – 06:30 pm
Teams will start to flesh out ideas, creating prototypes, or outlines of their
proposed solutions.
- Mentoring on Prototyping (02:00 – 03:00 pm)
- Team work on challenge (03:00 – 04:00 pm)
- Evaluation Round-2 (04:00 – 06:30 pm)
Day 2:
Refinement and Presentation Preparation: 08:30 – 12:00 pm
Teams will refine their solutions based on feedback or further research and
prepare presentations or demonstrations.
- Mentoring on Prototype development and presentation preparation (08:30
am – 10:30 am)
- Break (10:30 am – 11:00 am)
- Team work on challenge (11:00 am – 01:00 pm)
- Break (01:00 pm – 02:00 pm)
Presentations and Judging: 02:00 pm – 04:00 pm:
Teams will present their solutions to a panel of judges who evaluate them based
on predefined criteria.
- Evaluation Round-3 (02:00 pm – 04:00 pm)
Feedback and Awards: 04:00 pm onwards
Judges will provide feedback to the teams, and awards or recognition are given
for outstanding solutions or performance.
POSSIBLE CHALLENGE SCENARIOS:
· Academic Context:
Students from different departments (e.g., engineering, business, design) will
collaborate on a project, such as developing a new product or service.
· Professional Context:
Teams will work together to solve a business problem or develop a new
strategy.
· Recreational Context:
Teams will compete in a series of challenges that require collaboration and
problem-solving skills.
· Clear Objectives and Guidelines:
Participants will understand the challenge's goals and the rules of the
competition in advance.
· Effective Communication:
Open and clear communication within teams and with other teams will be
essential for collaboration.
· Diverse Perspectives:
The interdisciplinary nature of the team should be leveraged to bring different
viewpoints to the problem.
· Structured Approach:
A well-defined process will help teams manage their time and effort effectively.
· Constructive Feedback:
Receiving feedback on progress and ideas will be crucial for improving solutions.
