S1: There are many festival in Vietnam like: Mid-Autumn Festival, Hung
King’s Temple festival, Lunar New Year,... And today we will talk about Tet
Holiday. It is usually from the end of January to the end of February. Tet is
the time for family gatherings and relaxing after working a lot.
S2: Before Tet, we often tidy and decorate their house with peach blossoms,
apricot blossoms, or kumquat trees,... And we also prepare some ingredients
to make traditional food in Tet holiday.
S3: The most memorable time is the New Year’s Eve. In that evening, we are
so happy to watch firework display together and also give best wishes to have
a great new year. And people try to avoid argument or saying any bad things
on New Year’s Eve.
S4: There are many traditional food such as coconut, ginger jam, spring
rolls,... And i think people love to eat banh chung most because it is the
signature of Tet holiday. Banh chung is made from sticky rice, pork and
bean. It is very tasty and delicious.
S5: At Tet, we usually go to pagodas or temples to pray for health, wealth,
success,… In addition, elders will give lucky money to children and the
oldest people in the family. However, nowadays, they also give it to anyone,
their friends, neighbors,...
