Writing task2

1. In many countries today, increasing numbers of young people study at university.

Students, who will probably earn higher than average salaries after graduating, should
pay for their own higher education, rather than the state.
2. In the context of today’s competitive global economy, the main purpose of a country’s
education system is to prepare young people for particular types of work rather than to
help them develop into independent-thinking individuals.
3. Many children are forced to stay at school and study subjects that will be of little value
to them in the future. These children may disrupt the education of the majority and
should be allowed to leave school early to find themselves a job.
Topic 2.
In the current era of economic globalization, there is a debate whether the main goal of
education should be to prepare pupils for particular jobs or to nurture their critical
thinking. Whereas practical job skills are undeniably helpful and useful, I strongly believe
that the most crucial role of the educational system is to foster individuals who have
independent thinking to adapt and innovate in the long-term.
To begin with, independent thinking plays an important role as the foundation of
innovation, allowing people to create several groundbreaking ideas and overcome
traditional approaches. Throughout history, progress in technology and science has been
driven not by those who simply followed rules but by people who thought differently.
For instance, Mark Zuckerberg, who created a prevalent social platform – Facebook by
reimagined how people could connect online, something no formal curriculum could
have taught him at that time.
Moreover, in a rapidly fluctuating job market, critical thinkers could adapt better than
people who are trained only for one particular occupation. With the development of
artificial intelligence and automation, many fixed roles may soon disappear, and new
professions that we cannot predict will emerge. In Finland , the education system that
concentrates on creativity and problem-solving skills, provide young individuals with the
flexibility to succeed in a variety of careers. This adaptability is more valuable and
practical than skills tied to a single job.
To sum up, education system should not be limited to short- term occupation
preparation. By cultivating independent thinker, communities and societies guarantee
not only employability but also long run progress and resilience in an unpredictable
future.
