Q.1. Some people believe that war is a
necessary driver of national progress, while
others contend that governments should
prioritize peace and focus on economic
development to achieve advancement. In a
250-word essay, analyze the rationale behind
both viewpoints and provide your own
perspective.
War and progress have long been linked in history. Some people
believe that war drives national progress. They argue that war
pushes countries to develop new technologies and strengthen
their military power. For example, many inventions like
airplanes and computers came from wartime needs. War can
also unite people, creating strong patriotism and encouraging
citizens to work hard for their country. Supporters think that
without war, nations might become lazy or lose their
competitive edge.

On the other hand, many people believe that governments

should focus on peace and economic development. They say
war causes destruction, loss of life, and wastes resources that
could be used to improve people's lives. Peace allows countries

to invest in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, which
leads to steady progress. Economic growth creates jobs and
improves living standards. These supporters argue that lasting
advancement comes from cooperation and stability, not
conflict.

In my opinion, while war has sometimes accelerated technology

and unity, the harm it causes outweighs the benefits. Peace and
economic development offer a more sustainable and humane
way to advance. Progress should focus on improving quality of
life, not winning battles. Governments should prioritize peace,
diplomacy, and development to build a better future for all
citizens. True national progress comes from harmony and
growth, not from war and destruction.

Q.3.Wars are a major reason behind the

destruction of the environment and resultant
global warming. Write a note on how wars
are causing damage to the environment
leading to global warming and its impact on
human life on the planet called Earth.

Wars and Their Impact on the Environment and Global

Warming
Wars cause serious damage to the environment and increase
global warming. During wars, heavy weapons, bombs, and tanks
destroy forests, buildings, and land. Explosions release harmful
gases into the air, which pollute the atmosphere. War zones

often face oil spills, chemical leaks, and fire outbreaks that
damage soil, water, and air quality. All these activities increase
carbon emissions, which trap heat in the atmosphere and cause
global warming.
Global warming, caused by these war-related emissions, leads
to rising temperatures on Earth. This change affects weather
patterns, melts glaciers, and causes sea levels to rise. As a
result, many animals lose their natural habitats, and human life
also suffers. People face more floods, droughts, and food
shortages. In war-affected areas, the destruction of farmland
and water sources makes survival very hard.
Moreover, rebuilding after war requires cutting more trees,
burning fuels, and using more resources, which again harms the
environment. In short, wars not only kill people but also
damage the planet’s health. To save the Earth, it is important to
promote peace and protect the environment.

Difference Between Formal and Informal Writing
Formal and informal writing differ in both purpose and style.
Formal writing is used for official, academic, or professional
communication. It follows strict grammar rules, uses polite
language, and avoids contractions or slang. Examples include
reports, applications, and business letters.
Informal writing is casual and friendly. It is used in personal
communication like chatting with friends or writing messages to
family. It often includes contractions, simple language, and even
emotions or jokes. Examples are emails to friends or social
media posts.
Letter to the Prime Minister on Rising Inflation
To:
The Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan
Prime Minister’s Office
Islamabad
Subject: Request to Take Action Against Rising Inflation
Respected Sir,
I am writing this letter as a concerned citizen of Pakistan.

the lives of ordinary people. The prices of essential items such
as food, fuel, and medicines have gone beyond the reach of

common people. Every month, poor and middle-class families
are struggling to buy basic goods for their survival.
Salaries have not increased with the rising prices, and
unemployment is also adding to the misery. The cost of
electricity, gas, and transport is making life more difficult for the
general public. Inflation is also affecting small businesses,
farmers, and students.
I humbly request you to take immediate and effective steps to
control inflation. The government should provide relief to the
public by controlling prices, increasing job opportunities, and
ensuring fair distribution of resources.
Your kind attention to this serious issue will bring hope and
comfort to millions of people in our country.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Yours sincerely,
Saoud Raza
