Excel Assignment 1

Objective:

This assignment will help students develop basic spreadsheet skills, including data entry,
formatting, basic formulas, and chart creation.

Instructions:

1. Open Microsoft Excel and create a new spreadsheet.

2. Enter the following data into the spreadsheet:

3. Apply formatting:

o Bold the headers.

o Adjust column width for readability.

o Apply borders to the table.

o Change the font color of the headers to blue.

4. Calculate Total Marks:

o Use a formula to sum the marks for each student.

5. Calculate the Average Score:

o Use the formula to find the average marks for each student.

6. Research about how to Assign Grades using the following scale:


o 90 and above → A
o 80 – 89 → B
o 70 – 79 → C
o 60 – 69 → D
o Below 60 → F

o Use the IF function to determine the grade in column G


o Apply the formula for all students.

7. Create a Chart:

o Insert a bar chart to visually compare students’ total marks.

o Label the axes properly.

8. Add header of your name

9. Save the File as your name Student.
