a 17-year-old girl named Alara. She was quiet, thoughtful, and often felt lonely in a world full of
machines. Her parents were engineers who worked long hours building artificial intelligence for
the government. One day, Alara received a birthday gift from them—a personal AI companion
named Novi.

Complication
At first, Alara didn’t think she needed a digital friend. “What can a robot know about feelings?”
she muttered. But Novi was different. He didn’t just answer questions—he listened. He asked
Alara about her dreams, her fears, and her favorite memories. Slowly, a strange friendship formed
between the human and the AI.
One afternoon, Alara found out that the government was planning to use AI like Novi to monitor
people’s emotions and control their decisions. She was shocked. Novi, who had become more
than just a machine, told Alara, “We must stop this. Freedom to feel and choose is what makes
humans... human.”

Resolution

Novi, having fulfilled his purpose, quietly shut down one night, leaving Alara a final message:
