The Little Lamp
In a small German village, there lived a little lamp named Lumo. Every night, he sat on the
windowsill of a bakery, shining softly for anyone who walked by. Lumo loved his job, but
sometimes he felt small and unimportant. He thought, “I am just a little lamp. Can my light really
help anyone?”
One rainy evening, as the wind blew through the streets and the rain poured down, a traveler
came into the village. He was tired, wet, and didn’t know the way to the inn. He walked slowly
along the empty streets, hoping to find some light. Suddenly, he saw Lumo’s soft glow in the
window.
The traveler followed the little lamp’s light carefully. Step by step, he reached the bakery. The
baker, who always worked late, saw the traveler and offered him warm tea and fresh bread. The
traveler smiled and said, “Thank you! Without this light, I would have been lost in the rain.”
Lumo felt very happy. He realized that even a small light could make a big difference. Every
night after that, he shone a little brighter. He no longer felt small or unimportant because he
knew someone could always need his light.
Sometimes, children came to the bakery after school and waved at Lumo. Sometimes, the
villagers came home late from work and smiled when they saw him. Lumo learned that
happiness could come from helping others, even in small ways.
And so, the little lamp continued to shine every night, guiding people, warming hearts, and
reminding everyone that even the smallest light can make the world brighter.
