Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Role Description
A Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) acts as a bridge between development and IT operations,
leveraging automation tools to create scalable and reliable software systems. The core of an
SRE's role is centered around standardization and automation to improve the efficiency and
reliability of software systems.
Responsibilities
• Bridge the Gap: Seek to bridge the gap between operations and development teams
to deliver software faster.
• Automate Processes: Write and develop code to automate processes, such as
analyzing logs, testing production environments, and responding to any issues.
• Balance Work: Shift between development and operations tasks while maintaining a
balance.
• Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in development and deployment
processes and design automation solutions to mitigate them.
• Knowledge Growth: Maintain and grow knowledge of platform configuration
management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Software Integration: Build and integrate software tools to enhance an
organizational system’s reliability and scalability.
• Planning and Delivery: Participate in planning delivery time, code quality, and
deployment processes.
Key Skills
• Technical Skills: Experience with Linux CLI for developing and maintaining server
configurations.
• Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex
technical concepts.

• Tool Experience: Experience with continuous integration and related tools such as
