contact with the first ,then brought in contact with the second, and finally
removed from both. What is the new force of repulsion between A and B?
20. An oil drop of 12 excess electrons is held stationary under a constant
electric field of 2.55x10-4 NC-1 in Millikan’s oil drop experiment .The
density of the oil is 1.26gcm-3 .Estimate the radius of the drop.
21. Two charges (+Q & -Q) and kept at (-x 2,0) and (x2,0) respectively in the
xy –plane . Find the magnitude & direction of the net electric field at the
origin (0, 0).
22. A particle of mass 2×10-3 kg and charge 2µC enters into a uniform
electric field of 5×105 N/C , moving with a velocity of 10 m/s in a
direction opposite to that of the field. Calculate the distance it would
travel before coming to rest.

electric field at a point 4m. from the center of the electric dipole
(a) on axial line,
(b) On equatorial line.

(a) What is the flux of this field through square of 10cm. on a side
whose plane is parallel to the yz-plane?
(b) What is the flux through the same square if the normal to its plane
makes a 60o angle with the x- axis?
28. An infinite line charge produces a field of 9×104N/C at a distance of 2cm.
Calculate the linear charge density.
