The Future of Communication

How will we communicate with each other in the future? Will it be very different? Here
are some predictions about the future of communication.

Smartphones
We will have Bluetooth devices in our ears and eyes, and use implants in our hands to
replace smartphones. Smartphones will be part of our bodies.

Telepathy
Sensors in our heads will read our minds and translate our ideas into words, sounds, and
images. We will communicate with each other without talking, reading, or using
gestures!

Emojis
Emojis (or other symbols) will substitute text and sounds in communication and become
a new language. Words won't be necessary.

Content for Three Senses

Photos and videos won't have only words, images, and audio, but also a smell that will
combine with the content of the message.

Holograms
Calls of the future will project a hologram of you to make the conversation more realistic.

Talking to Things
As well as communicating with humans, we will communicate with robots and artificial
intelligences, too. Talking to machines will be more common and natural. You will
probably spend more time talking to your car or refrigerator than to another person!
Will face-to-face communication disappear in the future? How do you feel about these
predictions? Do you think they will come true?
