SFB 1074 is available in two versions. In the first version the profiles are insulated with 30 mm glass fibre reinforced polyamide strips. In the second version the profiles are insulated by inserting further insulation in the form of cellular plastic between the thermal break. The cellular plastic insulation improves the U-value by 0.3 W/m K over the profile section. We recommend a

low U-value system for places with high humidity, such as kitchens, bathrooms and swimming pools. The location of the window in a wall is very important for high surface temperatures of the profiles. The window should always be placed in the warmest part of a wall in order to eliminate thermal bridges.
The temperature distribution over window profiles is calculated theoretically with the use of FRAME4 software.

Our window system SFB 1074 is innovative in its design. We have made a great effort to obtain an energy effective system. The future requirements regarding the economical use of energy and environment protection are going to dominate in the construction sector. With the SFB 1074 system we get a low U-value and high air tightness in all products. The first striking feature of SFB 1074 is the symmetric design of the system. Sash profiles for inward opening French doors are available in two versions: one for side-hung fittings (Fix) and one for tilt-and-turn fittings. Functions of fittings: see page F-30. Windows, inward opening, in light walls SFB 1074
The SFB 1074 window system has been extended with a frame suitable for rational installation in light wall structures, consisting of sheet plate and insulation material. The frame has a rebate against the outside wall surface and is fixed with hidden fittings from the inside. The inside is complemented with an encasement made of special aluminium profiles. SFB 1074 has a low U-value over the profile section including the glass. Double or triple glazing units, as well as infill panels up to 54 mm can be installed in the rebate. Windows and window groups SFB 1074 fulfil the requirements as regards air and water tightness as well as wind load resistance according to SS-EN 12208, 12207 and 12210. The window system profiles can be anodised (natural and Hardoxal colours), powder coated (NCS-S and RAL) or coated using the effective Decoral method with various patterns.

Windows and window groups can be made as fixed or opening units, or mixed. The frame profile is always the same, while the encasement profiles used on the inside are adjusted to the wall thickness (3 different values) and the sash profile is selected according to the size, weight and function of the fittings. Windows, French doors, outward opening, SFB 1074 removal of smoke and evacuation of persons
Outward opening windows SFB 1074 have been designed to ensure removal of smoke and appropriate evacuation of persons in the case of fire (National building regulations). Outward opening French doors SFB 1074 with a maximum width of 1200 mm and a height of 2400 mm can be combined with top and side elements. Locking of the French door is ensured by a 3-point casement bolt and a restrictor. The handle can be equipped with a cylinder lock. The outward opening window is based on the same principles as the other windows in our well insulated window system SFB 1074, in which we get a low U-value and high air tightness in all products. Block windows, inward opening SFB 1074
Inward opening block windows SFB 1074 have been developed to satisfy the markets requirement of a window with a sash that is not visible from the outside. The block window is based on the same principles as our well insulated window system Thermo 74. A thermal break made of glass fibre reinforced polyamide is placed between symmetric chambers and grooves in frame profiles. In order to obtain a hidden sash, the outside glass panel of the glazing unit is stepped and joined with the sash profile. The grooves in the frame and sash profiles are adapted for inward opening fittings, which can provide side bottom and top hung functions, as well as tilt and turn function. Opening and fixed units can be combined into window elements. The rebate in the window sash provides space for double glazing units with stepped outside glass panel, which means that the outside glass panel is wider than the inside glass panel. The windows fulfil the requirements as regards air and water tightness as well as wind load resistance according to SS-EN 12208, 12207 and 12210. The block window system profiles can be anodised, powder coated or coated using the Decoral method with various colours and types of surface finish on the inside and on the outside. The S FB 1074 folding windows/ French doors, in combination with efficient glazing units, provide the possibility to have large open air openings in restaurants, cafs, shops, kiosks, balconies, terraces, and offices. The window profiles have a low U-value over the profile section. The window sashes are interconnected with hinges placed on the inside or on the outside. The window opens by folding the window sashes together on the inside, forming a package next to the window frame. The top edges of the window sashes are installed on rolling fittings and the bottom edges are guided with guide pins. The glass rebates in the window sashes provide space for double or triple glazing units. The folding window/French door system profiles can be anodised, powder coated or coated using the Decoral method with various colours and types of surface finish on the inside and on the outside. The window sashes of folding windows/French doors can be 850-2400 mm high and 300-900 mm wide. Total width: 6300 mm with 7 window sashes. Window sash weight: max 80 kg. Terrace doors SFB 1074 with the correct glazing can be used as opening parts in a facade. Terrace doors SFB 1074 are made of the widest sash profiles available in the window system. With sliding door fittings, hidden in the grooves of the profile system, a terrace door with numerous functions is obtained. In the closed position the fixed glass panels are in the same plane as the opening ones. The opening functions are shown in the illustrations below.
