THE PRESENT TENSE
The simple present tense is used to state:

An action that is happening at the time of speaking.
Example :
I live in a condominium
I am in the canteen

An action that is done regularly ( habitual action )
Examples :
I drink milk every morning
I wake up at 7 a.m everyday.
I always go shopping at weekends.

Universal truths :
Examples :
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west
Frog eats insects
The earth moves around the sun

Instructions and directions
Examples :
Go straight.
Walk to the blackboard
Turn right at the junction.

Feelings and senses
Examples :
I feel happy.
I hear music
I believe you can win

* Plural Subjects ( I , you , we , they ) use the simple form of the verb.
* Singular subjects ( he , she , it ) use the verb + s / es / ies
Examples:

He comes home early
She goes to school everyday
It flies above the tree
The boy plays badminton

I walk to the park

am is used with I Eg: a boy
is is used with a singular subject I am twelve years old
are is used with a plural subject hungry
