Turbine Generator Stator Rewinding Guide

The document discusses recommendations for when to rewind the stator windings of turbine generators based on dielectric strength testing. It is recommended to rewind the stator before the dielectric strength declines to 40% of the initial value. Considering safety, it is best to rewind when the dielectric strength reaches around 45% of the initial value. Charts show generators that were rewound based on this dielectric strength estimating approach. The dielectric strength is shown to depend on operating hours and number of starts and stops based on regression analysis of test data.
