Regular physical activity and exercise has many positive effects on the well-being of college students. It can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety by releasing endorphins and other neurotransmitters. Exercise also improves self-esteem, mood, sleep quality, and cognitive performance by reducing stress levels. While exercise dependence is possible, most college students who exercise regularly are unlikely to experience negative consequences and can benefit from improved mental health and academic performance.
