Detailed Process Design Guide

The process design team will review preliminary process documents and clarify information provided during bidding. Key activities include: 1) Developing process flow diagrams, utility flow diagrams, and heat and material balances based on the detailed process scheme. 2) Preparing piping and instrumentation diagrams and a line designation table. 3) Performing hydraulic calculations and process calculations to size equipment. 4) Developing process datasheets for equipment, instruments, and packages. 5) Performing HAZOP to identify process safety issues and revising P&IDs accordingly.

Process Design Procedure (cont.)
Upon award of contract and after kick-off meeting, the process design team will review the process document/drawing which have
been provided during bidding and clarify the preliminary process information provided with COMPANY. The following activities will
be performed during Detailed Engineering to meet the requirement of this project

 Battery limit conditions, processing capacity, operating mode and physical property for crude and utility streams shall be
reviewed with COMPANY for Design Basis preparation of the processing system.

 PFDs, UFDs and H&MBs will be then performed based on the detailed processing and utility scheme. A PFD will be prepared
based on the selected process scheme.

 P&IDs, (Process & Utilities Facilities) and Line Designation Table will be developed for the crude processing and utilities to
show all interfaces, control and shutdown arrangements.

 Hydraulic and pump calculations will be checked to ensure that the systems will be sufficient for operation based on updated
pipe routing and plot layout. Process Calculations for equipment and instruments (i.e. control valves, pressure safety valves
(PSV) will be carried out based on the process basis of design and H&MB, using in-house validated excel sheets.
Process Design Procedure (cont.)

 Process Datasheet for Equipment as well as process package will be developed based on the
selected process operating cases.

 Process datasheet for main Instruments will be developed i.e. control valves, and pressure
safety valves (PSV).

 Equipment List will be updated according to the verification of the system calculation check.

 Process Operating and Control Philosophy will be provided process description, outline of the
control logic, and operating philosophy.

 Process Cause and Effect Diagram shall be developed to show initiating device causes and their
trip action effect in a matrix diagram.
Process Design Procedure (cont.)

 HAZOP will be performed using PFDs, P&IDs, Cause and Effect chart, Operating and Control
Philosophy, etc. to be conducted for the entire system excluded vendor packages. HAZOP will
also reviewed Pre-HAZOP action items from FEED.

 Final revision of P&ID will be issued after incorporating HAZOP recommendation.

 Final design with As-Built documentation will be submitted to COMPANY as a final package
documentation.
