Conditional tenses are used to speculate about what could happen, what
might have happened, and what we wish would happen. In English, most
sentences using the conditional contain the word if. Many conditional
forms in English are used in sentences that include verbs in one of the past
tenses. This usage is referredClick
to asto "the unreal past" because we use a past
add text
tense but we are not actually referring to something that happened in the
past. There are five main ways of constructing conditional sentences in
English. In all cases, these sentences are made up of an if clause and a
main clause. In many negative conditional sentences, there is an
equivalent sentence construction using "unless" instead of "if".
What are conditionals in English grammar? Sometimes we
call them 'if clauses'. They describe the result of something
that might happen (in the present or future) or might have
happened but didn't (in the past). They are made using
different English verb tenses.
The First Conditional:
(if + present simple, ... will + infinitive)
If it rains tomorrow, we'll go to the cinema.

First Conditional
Conditional sentences are sentences expressing
factual implications, or hypothetical theoretical
situations and their consequences or results.
They are called as such because the strong point
of the main clause of the sentence depends on
the existence of what is expressed in the
dependent clause or what may be understood
from the context.
A full conditional sentence expresses the condition
as well as its consequences. It contains two
clauses: the dependent clause expressing the
condition and the main clause expressing the
consequence.
This is Good to Know!
The first conditional is used to express a
possible condition and its result in the
future.
Examples:
