Fleet Management System (Final)

The proposed system provides improvements over existing fleet management systems in three key areas: 1. It assigns a unique identification number to each vehicle to better track vehicle data over time. 2. It segregates and stores vehicle data in a structured manner on the cloud for faster retrieval. 3. It features a web-based user interface to display analyzed vehicle data in real-time, improving access and insights for fleet managers.

Fleet Management

System
Introduction

 The Fuel Consumption calculating system developed in this study can calculate
and analyze the fuel consumption precisely in real time
 By using this system, the fleet manager can provide proper adjustment to each
vehicles and drivers according to the results analysis.
 We can use this data to decrease the managing costs and increase the efficiency of
management

The Implementation of OBD-II Vehicle Diagnosis System
Integrated with Cloud Computation Technology, Shu-Te
University,Taiwan
 This paper implemented a cloud computation based second generation on-board
diagnostic (OBD-II) system.
 The proposed system is integrated with OBD-II, 3.5G wireless network, and cloud
computing technologies.
 It can perform real-time vehicle status surveillance
 The cloud computing server will report the fault code analysis results to the user
and provide the description about repair procedure.
 OBD II gives real time information of the vehicle
 GPS receiver can receive, process and transform
information into time ,latitude, longitude and
estimated position of the vehicle.
 The function of CAN/OBD-II diagnosis encoder
is to encode and integrate the GPS signals as well
as CAN/OBD information in accordance with the
preset transmission format.
 Vehicle diagnostic server receives and analyses
data from OBU which includes GPS Co-ordinates
vehicle speed engine, rpm, coolant temp etc.it will
alert owner in case of any abnormal situations
A survey on Vehicular Cloud Computing

 This paper suggests a combination of gathering information regarding vehicle condition through
OBD, internet connectivity, storing it on cloud database retrieving data from cloud as and when
needed, similar to the usual cloud resources.
 According to this paper, VCC can lead to a significant enhancement in efficiency of fuel
consumption.
 The intelligent vehicular networks will provide infotainment and will enable a new versatile
system that enhances transportation efficiency and safety.
 By using Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), intelligent applications enhances Intelligent
Transportation System(ITS) and can improve fuel efficiency.
 The Vehicular cloud computing architecture relies
on three layers.
 First layer(inside-vehicle layer): monitors the
behaviour of the driver and collects information
such as fuel level from flow sensor, location of the
vehicle. Then, the information collated via sensors
should be sent to the cloud or to the software
programs in the application layer.
 We assume that each vehicle is equipped with an
OBU that including a built-in navigation system.
 The OBUs have a broadband wireless
communication to transfer data through 3G or 4G
cellular communication devices.
Real-Time Vehicle Fleet Management and
Security System
 The vehicle fleet management involves the administration of motor vehicles such
as cars, vans and trucks etc.
 Fleet management allows companies which rely on transportation in business to
minimize the risks associated with improving transportation efficiency, safety,
productivity and reducing the overall fuel costs.
 Cab companies need to monitor all the cabs in real time so that they can analyze
faults in vehicles.
 Server system is to accept the data from the In-
Vehicle system and maintain a database to store the
accepted data.
 In-Vehicle system server interface have the PHP
script, which will accept the data from the vehicle
module through GPRS HTTP protocol.
 This acquired data then transferred to the database.
Database accepts the data from PHP script and
appends the data to the existing data.
 GUI server will take the real time location details
from the location database and plots in the Google
maps.
Existing System Architecture
 The following components are included to construct this system:
 VTS: is response to vehicle telematics monitoring and return vehicle information
 Data Collector(DC): is for receiving and storing data
 Web: is for calculating and analyzing fuel consumption.
Disadvantages of Existing Architecture:

 The existing system architecture does not provide every vehicle with a unique
identification number.
 The data that is collected from the microcontroller is not stored properly and
makes it confusing while reading the data.
 The data is not presented on a web-based user interface which makes it easy for
the user to view the necessary details.
Proposed System Architecture:
Fleet Management
 In Fleet Management data is collected from many different sources all at once.
 The data sent by the microcontroller will be unique for each and every vehicle.
 The data of vehicles will have a unique identification number for all vehicles .
Data Segregation and Storing
 The data which is received from the microcontroller comes in a random and in a very unspecified way.
Data Segregation is needed to store data in a specified way which will not create any confusion.
 After segregation of data, it must be stored in such a place where data access is fast. Data will be
stored on the cloud where data retrieval is faster. It will be uploaded on the cloud using internet via
GPRS or GSM networks.
Web based user interface
 After segregation and storing of data on the cloud, the data will be processed for
data analytics.
 After performing data analytics, the data will be viewed by the user. To view the
sorted and analyzed data it will need a user interface.
 The web-based user interface will be used to show the necessary data asked by the
users on the web in real-time.
 The real time tracking and condition of engine, rpm, fuel level of the vehicle, etc.
can be viewed on the web-based user interface.
