Complex Sentence
Is a sentence with one independent clause and
at least one dependent clause. ... Complex
sentences are easy to spot as they often use
subordinating conjunctions like because, since, or
until to connect clauses.
Examples of Complex Sentences
When we buy his birthday cake, we have to make sure its lemon.
When the cake is brown, remove it from the oven.
Stay in the bath until the phone rings.
Both the cockroach and the bird would get along very well without us, although the
cockroach would miss us most.
Leave while you can.
When I was a child, I love playing baseball.

Simple Sentence
A simple sentence is a sentence that consists of just one independent clause.
A simple sentence has no dependent clauses.
Examples:
I cannot drink warm milk.

Compound Sentence
A compound sentence is a sentence that connects two independent clauses,
typically with a coordinating conjunction like and or but.
Examples:
1. I want to lose weight, yet I eat chocolate daily.
2. Mary went to work, but John went to the party, and I went home.
3. I like coffee, and Mary likes tea.
Compound-Complex Sentence
A compound-complex sentence is comprised of at least two independent
clauses and one or more dependent clauses.
Examples:
1. When I grow up, I want to be a seaman, and my mom is proud of me.
2. I will get to watch television, but first, I have to clean up the dishes after we finish
eating.
3. After our trip to the beach, school started back, and I was excited to see my friends.
