Rotation

This document provides a lesson on rotations for year 8 students. It defines a rotation as a transformation that turns every point on a figure through a given angle about a fixed point, called the center of rotational symmetry. The lesson demonstrates rotating a figure 90, 180, 270, and 360 degrees clockwise and anticlockwise. Examples are given of plotting a quadrilateral on a graph and rotating it about the origin at various angles. Students are instructed to complete a task sheet practicing these rotations.

Rotation

A rotation is a transformation in which every point on the figure is turned through a given angle
about a fixed point.

The fixed point is called the Centre of Rotational Symmetry.
