AutoCAD 2007 Setup

Opening the AutoCAD 2007

Open the AutoCAD 2007


After opening, select the
workspace as AutoCAD
Classic
Click OK

Note : Don’t check the


“Don’t show me this again”
Setting up the Units

Type “units” to open Units


dialog box
Or type “units” in Command
box which is in the bottom
Setting up the Units

In Drawing Units dialog Box,


Select Precision and choose
“0”
In units to scale inserted
content , choose
“Millimeters”
Select OK
Setting up the Dimension
Styles

Type “d” in the window or


in Command box in below
Dimension style dialog box
will appears
Select “Modify”

Under Lines , change color


of dimension and extension
lines to “Cyan”
Setting up the Dimension

Under Symbols and Arrows,


set arrow size to “5”
In Fonts, Choose “Verdana” in Font Name
Set height to “5” and click “Close”
Setting up the Dimension Choose “Aligned with dimension line” in text
Styles alignment

Under Text, select “…” near the


text style, set height to “5”

Select Primary Units


Under Primary Units, select “0” in
Precision
Click OK

Setting up the Drafting
Settings

Type “ds” in the window or in the


command box
Drafting Settings dialog box
appears
Select Object Snap
Select “Select All” and click OK

Type “layer” in the window or in


the command box
Layers dialog box appears
Select “New Layer” to create a
new layer
Setting up the Layers

We need to create 4 layers named


“XY Line” , “Objects” ,
“Projections” , “Axis Line”
Each layers have different
parameters
Parameters for the layers

Layer Name Color Line type Line weight


XY line White Continuous 0.20mm
Object White Continuous 0.50mm
Projection line Cyan Continuous 0.15mm
Parameters for the Axis line

For “Axis Line”, select


“Continuous” and select “Load”
Choose “ISO Long - dash short -
dash”
Select OK
Select “ISO Long - dash short -
dash”
Select OK
Parameters for the Axis line

Select “ISO Long - dash short -


dash”
Select OK
Now change the parameters of
axis line

Layer Name Color Line type Line Weight

Axis line Red ISO Long - dash 0.30mm


short - dash
Parameters for the Layers

Now it will look like this


Select OK
Setting up the Limits and
Zooming

Type “limits” in the window or in


the command box
Set the lower left corner limits to
“0,0”
Press TAB key to lock the
ordinates
Set the Upper right corner limits
to “297,210”
Press ENTER
Zooming

Type “zoom” in the window or in


the command box
Type “all”
Press ENTER
Setting up the Margin

Select XY Layer from the layers


Select RECTANGLE tool from
toolbar or type “rect” in the
window or in the command box
Set the lower left corner limits to
“0,0”
Press TAB key to lock the ordinates
Set the Upper right corner limits to
“297,210”
Press ENTER
You will get a rectangular margin
of 297x210
