Environmental factors influencing the pH levels of water sources in Olutanga,
Zamboanga Sibugay
Rationale
Water quality poses a global challenge due to its direct implications for human
health, ecosystem resilience, and environmental equilibrium. The pH level, being a
foundational factor, holds considerable significance in shaping the chemical attributes of
water and can exert a substantial influence on its overall quality. (Dewangan, Toppo, & Kujur,
2023). The pH level significantly impacts different facets of water quality. For instance,
studies conducted by Shelmerdine, Black, McGrath, and Young, (2009) revealed that
decreased pH levels contribute to heightened acidity in water, posing detrimental
consequences for aquatic organisms and their environments. This increased acidity can
disrupt the physiological functions of aquatic life, hinder their development and breeding,
and potentially result in declines in population numbers. Understanding the environmental
factors influencing water pH levels in Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay is essential for
safeguarding water quality, human health, and ecosystem integrity. By pinpointing the
specific drivers of pH fluctuations, such as geological features and human activities, this
research can inform targeted interventions to preserve and enhance water quality in the
region, ensuring sustainable water resource management and environmental well-being.

Water use practices in households of Solar, Olutanga Zamboanga Sibugay
Rationale
Rising populations, contamination of water sources, urban expansion, agricultural
irrigation, climate change, and drought have collectively led to substantial gaps between the
availability of quality water sources and the growing demand for consumption. The primary
concern for numerous regions revolves around the diminishing and unpredictable water
security amidst escalating consumption. As water authorities strive to ensure future water
supplies, they acknowledge the necessity of actively regulating water demand (Jorgensen,
Graymore, & O'Toole, 2009). As access to reliable water sources becomes increasingly vital,
particularly in the context of changing environmental conditions and regional demographics, a
detailed examination of household water use practices is essential. This research aims to shed
light on the current dynamics of water utilization, identifying factors such as consumption
habits, conservation practices, and potential challenges. By unraveling these aspects, the
study seeks to provide valuable insights for local water management strategies, ensuring
sustainable usage practices and addressing potential water-related issues in the community.

The effects of different sound genres on in vitro seed germination of Mung
bean (Vigna radiata)
Rationale
Sound, as a distinctive form of mechanical stress, exerts a discernible impact on plant
growth, and compelling evidence supports its ability to enhance the overall development of
plants. Research has demonstrated that robust sound stimulation can serve as a catalyst for
promoting plant growth (Xiujuan, Bochu, Wu, Chuanren, & Sakanishi, 2003). It has been
discovered that sound plays a unique role in shaping plant growth, leading to enhanced
development and the promotion of positive genetic traits. However, only a few studies have
been conducted to date to determine the types of sounds that affect plant growth (Noor
Anilizawatima, & Lidawani, 2015). This research aims to bridge this gap by systematically
examining the responses of mung bean seeds to diverse musical genres, seeking to identify
whether specific types of sounds can enhance or inhibit the germination process. The study's
findings may contribute valuable insights into the optimization of cultivation practices,
potentially offering a novel and sustainable approach to promoting seed germination and overall
plant growth.
