AND FINAL DRIVE


TRANSMISSION

 Tractor transmission is a mechanism used to transfer power from the tractor


engine to the wheels. It is usually located behind the engine and consists of gears
used to control the tractor's movement.

 The transmission works by changing gear ratios, allowing the tractor to move at
different speeds. This allows the tractor to travel at high speeds or move slowly.
The transmission also includes a gear box used to change the tractor's direction.
TRACTOR TRANSMISSION PARTS

 The transmission is a mechanism used to transfer power from the tractor's engine
to the wheels. Transmission parts include gears, output shaft, gearbox and clutch
parts. Each of these parts is important for enabling the tractor to operate at
different speeds.
 Transmission gears are one of the most important parts that determine the speed
of the tractor. Gear sets consist of gears that can operate at different speed
intervals. Gear ratios allow the tractor to operate at different speed ranges. For
example, small gears are used for slow movement, while large gears are preferred
for high-speed movement.
 The output shaft is one of the most important parts of the transmission. It
connects to the engine's output shaft to transfer power to the transmission gears.
This part is extremely important for the efficient operation of the tractor.
 The gearbox is another important part of the transmission. The gearbox is used
to adjust the tractor's speed by changing gear ratios. This part ensures high
performance of the tractor.
 Clutch parts are another important component of tractor transmission parts. The
clutch is a part that transfers engine power to the transmission. Proper
functioning of the clutch is important for controlling the tractor's movement and
speed.
 Regular maintenance of transmission parts is important for the efficient
operation of the tractor. Therefore, the parts must be cleaned, lubricated and
inspected. Regular maintenance extends the life of transmission parts and helps
prevent malfunctions.
DIFFERENTIAL AND FINAL DRIVE
Differential: Differential unit is a special
arrangement of gears to permit one of the
rear wheels of the tractor to rotate slower
or faster than the other. While turning the
tractor on a curved path, the inner wheel
has to travel lesser the tractor to move
faster than the other at the turning point.
The output shaft coming from the gear box
is provided with a bevel pinion at the end
of the shaft (Fig. 6). The bevel pinion is in
mesh with a large bevel wheel known as
crown wheel.
DIFFERENTIAL LOCK AND FINAL DRIVE

Differential lock:
Differential lock is a device to join both half axles of the tractor so that even if one
wheel is under less resistance, the tractor comes out from the mud etc as both wheels
move with the same speed and apply equal traction.
Final drive:
Final drive is a gear reduction unit in the power trains between the differential and
the drive wheels. Final drive transmits the power finally to the rear axle and the
wheels. The tractor rear wheels are not directly attached to the half shafts but the
drive is taken through a pair of spur gears. Each half shaft terminates in a small gear,
which meshes with a large gear called bull gear. The bull gear is mounted on the
shaft, carrying the tractor rear wheel. The device for final speed reduction, suitable
for tractor rear wheels is known as final drive mechanism.
