BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

According to Shahria et al (2015) reported that bullying is deemed as a serious


problem in academic settings in all parts of the world. They found that bullying
has negative impact on academic performance. Females were more affected
than males by bullying. According to alison (2016) stated that bullying is
considered as global problem that affect emotional,social,and physical
wellbeing of school– age
children worldwide. According to Shafqat (2015 p ·45) argued that bullying in
school occurs in any place either in school building or around school building
and may occurs in the bathrooms school buses and during waiting for
schoolbuses, and in classes which may require group work or after school
activities · School bullying is a widespread issues that affects school students
in many parts of their lives such as psycnologically, educationally, and
professionally · According to Sekoi and Farington (2016) found that bullies.
Compared to non-bullies have been bullied before, Bullying at school affects
academic achievements since bullied children feel fear and weak and in the
same time it affects students personality traits and self confidence . Therefore
such situation makes bullied students unable to follow or to pay attention for
their study well and even they might do not like to go to school. Moreover they
miss opportunities to participate with their colloquies or even enjoy school
activities.

who are bullied are more likely to experience depression and anxiety,health
compaints, and decreased academic achievement.

from their classmate whenever they do some thing that some students
easily judge it eventhey know to themselves that they do the right
thing some students bullied because of their physical appearance or
how they look some students of Mabayuan Senior High School, feel
that they are cool after they put something on their classmates bag.
And at this moments because of influence of some students to their
classmates to do wrong to other peoples some students have no
confidence to tell what they really feel because of fear and threat of
other students. And they can’t express they’re thoughts and they
have fear to answer in front of the class because they feel judge by
their classmates.

We choose this study to solve some problem of bullying some of us


experience this thing and can’t easily express what we really feel
because of fear to be judge again or to be call weak. Even we don’t
speak for out self we been calling weak for not fighting back. This
study will help us to improve or to do the right thing and we will step
by step tell to our classmates or some students or our school that
bullying is bad and it can effect the mental health of the students that

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The purpose of this exploratory


study is to describe the How bullying
affects of Grade 12 students from.
Mabayuan Senior High School for the
past two years to the academic
performance and achievements of
the students to know the effects of
Bullying to does experiencing it.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
The study is to focus on the impact of
bullying on student Engagement and
Achievement of Grade 12 GAS student in
the Mabayuan Senior High School for S.Y.
2023-2024 as basis for understanding
the effects of bullying among Grade 12
GAS students in Mabayuan Senior High
School. However the analyses were
limited to effectiveness of bullying to
those students that experiencing it and
know the cause of bullying to find out
the effects of bullying on students
engagement and achievements.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study focuses on the Impact of


Bullying on Student Engagement and
Achievement of Grade 12 GAS students
in Mabayuan Senior High School S.Y.
2023·2024.
DEFINITION OF TERMS
Academic Performance- This study refers
for academic performance of student that
raving bullying their performance might be
affected because or what their experiencing
and their social skills will be not as much
like before because of the bullying.

Engagement- The Bullying can effect the


engagement of student that experiencing it
and for those fear to speak for themselves
they experiencing trauma and it can effect
their engagement at school.
Focus- The effect of Bullying on Student
Engagement and Achievement.

Fear- This study fear is refers to the


students to speak for themselves because
of the threat that they handling it can effect
for their social life.

Grade12 Student- This are the respondent


of the research that can help the research
collect more data or information they
needed.
Impact of Bullying- The impact of bullying on
Grade 12-GAS student can effect their Academic
performance and their Academic Achievement.
Bullying can effect the phenomenon.

Mabayuan Senior High School- This research


conducted at Mabayuan Senior High School. This
location is the respondent setting or at this
place where the Grade 12 GAS student.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter presents the research
methodology, respondents, instrument
construction and validation, data gathering,
data treatment.

Research Design
The study uses the Quantitative Descriptive a
type of inquiry called descriptive research
details the characteristics of population or
topics being studied. This Descriptive
approach focuses more than ‘What’ than the
‘Why’ of the research (problem Bhat,2022). It
gathers the information required to respond
to various what, when, and how questions

Instrument
The survey questionnaire that the
researcher utilized was adopted
based on the instrument provided by
the department that had already
been performed. The instrument was
made up of a number of components.
Part 1 was primarily concerned with
the profile of the Grade 12 GAS
including their sex, age, The research
questions are assessed in Part 2 of
the instrument in the areas of survey
form, percentage, interview and
informal observation. The study
Validation of Instrument
The final draft of the instrument was
evaluated by a panel experts Ma’am
Cecile Fernandez, language teacher,
William DC. Garcia, research teacher,
and Sir. Jimbo P. Dumlao subject
specialist. A content validation form
was used having the following
criteria. To wit; scope and
organization, appropriateness and
adequateness of indicators,
comprehensiveness of the ideas, and
relevance and responsiveness of the
items, respectively. Upon the

The respondents in the study were
given informed consent from the outset.
To ensure that the study is transparent
the permission form and the issue, in
general, were discussed with
respondents may have been welcomed
and answered as quickly as feasible.
Throughtout the study’s progress and
conclusion, respondents remain
anonymous. Respondents were informed
ahead of time that their participants in
the study was entirely voluntary, and
they had the choice to withdraw at any
moment.
Treatment of Data
The data gathered from the respondents will
be statistically evaluated in order to get the
desired assessment of the problem of the
study. Then, it will be collected and arranged
separately per group.
The following will be applied in the
handling of the data:

1. Frequency. This pertains to the number of


occurrences of a repeating event or
responses per unit time or item (Bakshi,
2012).
Data analysis- summarize collected
data. It involves the interpretation of data
gathered through the use of analytical and
logical reasoning
