MANUFACTURING AUTOMATION
MANUFACTURING AUTOMATION

 Manufacturing automation refers to the use of

technologies such as equipment, software and expertise to
automate production processes and systems.

 Manufacturing automation is the use of technology to

perform tasks in a factory without human intervention. The
goal is to increase efficiency, productivity, and accuracy

 The application of technology, programs, robotics or

processes to achieve outcomes with minimal human input.

 Drive the process, load,

unload the work unit,
transport, power for
controller unit, actuate
the control signal.
 Set of commands that
specify the sequence of
steps in the work cycle
and the details of each
step, CNC program e. g
Axis position in a
positioning system
Motor on or off.
MANUFACTURING AUTOMATION

 Closed-loop (feedback)
control system – a
system in which the
output variable is
compared with an input
parameter, and any
difference between the
two is used to drive the
output into agreement
with the input
 Open-loop control
system – operates
without the feedback
loop. Simpler and less
expensive
