PROGRAM GOAL
The ARAL Program is being implemented to
establish a free and effective national learning
intervention program to ensure that all learners
who are struggling in their lessons, especially in
reading, mathematics, and science, will be able
to attain competencies set by DepEd in their
respective levels.

ARAL PROGRAM FRAMEWORK
ARAL Program is a strategic and data-driven
national learning recovery program.
• Informed by:
⚬ CRLA (Comprehensive Rapid Literacy
Assessment)
⚬ RMA (Rapid Mathematics Assessment)
⚬ Phil-IRI (Philippine Informal Reading
Inventory)
• Provides targeted support for learners performing below
grade level.
ASSESSMENT TOOLS
Learners who perform below the minimum
proficiency level shall be identified for the
intervention in the ARAL Program:
In reading, learners classified as “Emerging,”
“Developing,” and “Transitioning” (Key Stage 1) and
“Frustration” and “Instructional” (Key Stage 2-3)
In mathematics, learners classified as “Not Proficient,”
“Low Proficient,” and “Nearly Proficient.”
The ARAL Program complements,
rather than replaces, daily
teaching-learning processes.
NOT ALL who struggle become ARAL learners
immediately.
They should first undergo DLL- and DLP-based
interventions.
Learners who continue to fall behind after Q2 and fail
formative/midline assessments may be referred to
ARAL.
ARAL PROGRAM REFERRAL
While we are implementing the ARAL Program, we
need to ensure that other learning initiatives
complement and support this effort.
LEARNER’S ARAL JOURNEY
Experienced teachers with relevant areas of specialization
(Reading, Science, and Math) or those teachers who have
years of actual experience in classroom management and a
variety of teaching strategies shall be given a priority as ARAL
Tutors
Such teachers, however, shall not serve as
tutors of their own learners
