• Start Menu
• allows you to access your computer programs
and configure Microsoft Windows easily.
• Taskbar
• an element of an operating system located at
the bottom of the screen. It allows you to locate
and launch programs through Start and the
Start menu, or view any program that's
currently open.
• Desktop Icon
• represent files, folders, programs, and other
items. When you first start Windows, you'll see
at least one icon on your desktop: the Recycle

• is the main screen area that you see after you
turn on your computer and log on to Windows.
• Notification Icon/s
• part of the taskbar that provides a temporary
source for notifications and status. It can also
be used to display icons for system and program

• Title Bar
• a small strip that extends across the top of a window. It
displays the title of the window and typically includes the
close, minimize, and maximize buttons.
• Quick Access Toolbar
• a small strip that extends across the top of a window. It
displays the title of the window and typically includes the
close, minimize, and maximize buttons.
• Office Button
• located on the top left corner of the window. It is a new
user interface feature that replaced the traditional "File"
menu
• Menu Bar
• is to supply a common housing for window- or application-
specific menus which provide access to such functions as
opening files, interacting with an application, or displaying
help documentation or manuals.
• Ribbon
• a set of toolbars at the top of the window in Office
programs designed to help you quickly find the
commands that you need to complete a task.
• Status Bar
• a graphical control element which poses an information
area typically found at the window's bottom
• View Buttons
• are a feature that lets you change how the presentation or
document appears.
• Zoom In and Out
• located at the right side of the status bar at the bottom of
the window for quick access. Click and drag the slider to
the left or right to zoom out or in
• Horizontal Scroll Bar
• enables the user to scroll the content of a window to the
left or right.
• Vertical Scroll Bar
• enables the user to scroll the content up or down.
• Ruler
• shows the length of the typing line and lets you quickly
adjust left and right margins and indents, set tabs, and
change column widths.
• Print Layout View
• displays your document as it would look when printed,
complete with margins, page breaks, and other visual
elements.
