00:29I'm actually here with my co-host for Metal with the Mics, Mike Bufus.

00:32What's going on, everybody?

00:33Yeah, but it's not your full metal hour yet.

00:35We're going to get into some metal later.

00:37No, that's much later on.

00:38Joined by a very special guest right now, Caleb Shomo of Bare Tooth, who will be performing

00:43here.

00:43Hopefully, you're on your way to Rock the Rock Fest.

00:45Caleb, what's going on, man?

00:46How are we doing?

00:47What an intro.

00:48I'm ready to rock, dude.

00:55Caleb was telling me, and the 40 minutes that they got is a killer set, so you definitely

01:01I was talking to some fans at an event a week ago, and they're just so pumped to see

01:09you guys, because you're actually our first repeat performer, because you joined Wage

01:13War on stage last year.

01:15Yes.

01:15Yes, I did.

01:16So you're our first recurring Rock the Rock Fest artist.

01:19You're like a Rock the Rock Fest personality now.

01:21You know, I try.

01:22I was planting the seed, and here we are.

01:25We're back to doing ourselves.

01:25So we need a hat trick next year.

01:26Yeah.

01:33So we got Below, your most recent full-length album.

01:38Then we got Riptide Dropped.

01:39And I asked you this.

01:40I don't know if you remember.

01:41We chatted a couple months ago on the phone.

01:43Did a quick little interview, and I said, like, you know, are we going to get something

01:46else?

01:46And you were kind of like, you know, a little wishy-washy with your answer, which I totally

01:49respected.

01:51But we got a brand new single a week ago.

01:54Yeah.

01:55That is one.

01:56Killer tune.

01:56So insanely cool.

01:58I was actually watching the video, like an animation kind of thing, with the sun and

02:05the skeletons dancing around and all that.

02:07And one of the comments I found to be dead on was like, oh, Beartooth is always so good

02:13at bringing the heavy, but mixing it with the melodic.

02:15But on this track right here, it's like full epic central.

02:18And I'm just like, that literally sums up the tune.

02:21Right on.

02:22That's perfect.

02:23You know what I mean?

02:23Seeing the sun and having that kind of like happy, jarring look to it.

02:28And then all of a sudden, it's like heavier points and all that stuff.

02:31It's really, really well done.

02:32Yeah.

02:32I appreciate that greatly.

02:34I mean, it is definitely, that's kind of what we do.

02:37And that's what I love to do.

02:38You know, I love writing songs and singing and melodies and lyrics and all that.

02:42But I also love rocking a lot.

02:46Huge fan of it.

02:47And letting out some energy.

02:48So Sunshine really is just kind of like, I don't know, another way to warm people up

02:53for what's coming and, you know, strap in because it's going to be a wild ride.

02:56Yeah.

02:57Yeah, definitely.

02:57And now, I mean, this being the second single, I have to ask you the same question I asked

03:01on the phone.

03:02Of course.

03:02Can we expect any kind of album in the works?

03:05Yeah.

03:06Yeah.

03:06Absolutely.

03:07Sure.

03:08The first time I feel comfortable saying it, I'm probably going to get in trouble for

03:11it.

03:11But yes.

03:13No one's listening to me right now.

03:15Just kidding.

03:19Piggybacking on the brutality or the comment that you're saying how, you know, you get

03:23brutal with some of the music and then you also get majestic.

03:26What were some of the influences that led to that style and influenced you to have music

03:31like that where it's so intense, but then you also get so majestic and epic, especially

03:35with the hooks and the choruses?

03:37I just listen to so much.

03:39Like, you know, pop music in general, I'm just a huge fan of, you know, modern stuff,

03:44classic stuff, whatever it may be.

03:46Heavy metal.

03:46I mean, rock is like literally in my blood.

03:49That's just my favorite stuff.

03:50ACDC is my favorite band of all time.

03:52And like, they to me are just, the whole point is that they just go relentlessly and do not

04:00let off.

04:00So like all of that kind of really intense stuff that comes from them.

04:04But I don't know.

04:05I mean, Sunshine specifically is just a mixture of like so many things I've listened to and

04:11so many emotions I've felt.

04:12And then, you know, just throw a big old like kind of 80s Metallica sounding breakdown in

04:18the middle and let it rip.

04:20That's awesome.

04:21I got to ask you, do you have a favorite ACDC record?

04:24I mean, it changes a lot.

04:26But I mean, Let There Be Rock is way up there.

04:30I'm very partial to the Bond era stuff.

04:35I mean, obviously, Brian is incredible.

04:37And I think, you know, Back in Black was like the first record I bought with my own money,

04:41changed my whole life.

04:43But, yeah, I mean, those records between like, you know, 74 and 79 are just wildly good.

04:48They really are.

04:49They really are, man.

04:50Well, thank you so much for taking the time to hang with us for a little bit.

04:53Your performance, we are so psyched for.

04:57And I'm just looking forward to people getting out here and watching it, man.
