00:00There is something that does not make sense about Hulk Hogan's death, and the focus, as far as we're concerned, is the police department.
00:11Right, and what they are now calling a death investigation.
00:15And there's a phrase in the news biz where you say, something just doesn't pass the smell test.
00:20It doesn't.
00:20So this is a situation where when he died, we broke the story, and what we were told was he stopped breathing.
00:28And what it seemed like, it was a heart attack.
00:31So, end of story, right?
00:33They didn't do an autopsy.
00:35Which also makes you think, end of story, because they didn't do an autopsy.
00:38Right.
00:39It must have been a heart attack.
00:40And so, a little time passes.
00:43Brooke Hogan starts raising questions.
00:46Why wasn't there an autopsy?
00:48She started raising questions about the way in which he died.
00:52And then we found out that the phrenic nerve, and we know this because there was an occupational therapist who was at Hulk's house.
01:03Hulk was sitting in a chair when he stopped breathing.
01:06There was an occupational therapist there at the time.
01:09He told the police that the reason he died was that Hulk had had a recent operation, and they accidentally severed the phrenic nerve, which is connected to the diaphragm, which controls breathing.
01:25Right.
01:25It's connected from your brain to your diaphragm.
01:27It's how you breathe.
01:28And if that's damaged, obviously, you know what could happen.
01:32It now makes sense why Brooke said, now that we know it's in this police report, that's where we found out about this phrenic nerve, and the occupational therapist who said this.
01:44But you remember, a couple of days ago, Brooke posted something where she said, there's information that will change the narrative around my father's death.
01:52And we kept going, narrative?
01:54Because there's no narrative.
01:55Like, we just, he had a heart attack.
01:58That's what we all believe.
01:59So we start calling the police, and our inside information there is that the stories that we've been doing has caused a stir at the police department.
02:10I don't know when they opened this death investigation, but it's been weeks since Hulk died.
02:14When they started calling it a death investigation.
02:16But the big deal is this, that we call the medical examiner, and the medical examiner said, we said, why didn't you do an autopsy?
02:23The medical examiner said, we don't do an autopsy unless the police tell us that it was something other than a natural death.
02:31And we were told that the medical examiner never even knew about the phrenic nerve being severed.
02:37So they said, well, we were never told this.
02:39So we're calling the police back, and we're asking the police to, I mean, literally 15 minutes ago, you know, I made a call.
02:46And so was our sports department.
02:49Nobody's heard back from them.
02:50I mean, other than saying, we stick by our original statement.
02:53But the original statement said nothing about the phrenic nerve or about this statement that was made by the occupational therapist.
03:03If the police know, and we're told that this occupational therapist is on body cam, speaking to people in the room about the phrenic nerve.
03:13So the police heard this conversation.
03:16They're aware that someone on the scene said that there was a nerve damaged in Hulk's body that would have caused him to stop breathing.
03:25They were told, not only told that, it's in the, it wrote it in the police report.
03:27Why isn't there an investigation into that?
03:31Well, now there is an investigation, but there wasn't an autopsy.
03:34It turns out that-
03:35How is that not part of the investigation is my point.
03:38Now, his wife, Skye, did do an autopsy, we're told.
03:42She independently had an autopsy.
03:44Independently.
03:45We don't know what the- hold on.
03:46There's one other thing.
03:47Guys, are you guys, are you guys aware of the opioid claim?
03:53Yes, very much so, yes.
03:54Okay.
03:55So this is Bubba talking about-
03:57Bubba the Love Sponge, yeah.
03:58Bubba the Love Sponge, which he's explained as one of Hulk's best friends.
04:01Yeah, long-time best friend at the center of the scandal regarding the sex tape.
04:06He went on his radio show this morning, or yesterday morning, and basically explained that he believes that Hulk was addicted to opioids
04:13and believes that at the time of his death, he's concerned that maybe Hulk possibly OD'd on opioids.
04:19I have spoken to people connected with that family who have told me that this has been an ongoing problem with Hulk because he had so many surgeries,
04:31and I was told that there were points in his life where he got addicted and wanted to get off them, but went on and off.
04:39So that raises a whole other issue in terms of a death investigation that were opioids contributing to him stopping breathing.
04:49And the only way to find that out is to get this autopsy.
04:51An autopsy.
04:51An autopsy.
04:52So Sky had this autopsy done independently.
04:56She told us yesterday she doesn't have the results yet?
04:59She intimated that there's no results yet, or that she has the results, but she doesn't quite understand them.
05:03I think it's that.
05:04I think it's that.
05:05Again, the joke she used was, I'm going to count.
05:07I don't know how to read these kind of deals.
05:09So who knows what the autopsy says currently, but she says she will release them at some point.
05:14But she wants the totality of it all before she lets it go.
05:17So, I mean, that's at least they did an autopsy, but it doesn't answer why the authorities treated it this way.
05:25And so now you've got the phrenic nerve, which we know they knew about.
05:30You've got these, well, they're not allegations.
05:34I mean, I spoke to somebody who was in a position to know this and talked to Hulk about it.
05:41And he, they talked about the opioid issue and how he wanted to kick it, you know, after various surgeries.
05:48And so why wasn't there an autopsy?
05:51And the bigger question, why are we not getting any calls back, you know, from multiple, how many times have you called the police yesterday?
06:00At least a dozen, maybe roughly somewhere around there.
06:04It's double digits.
06:05And I've called half a dozen.
06:06Yeah.
06:06So I don't know.
06:08I don't know why.
06:09What are they investigating?
06:11Because they ruled it natural causes already, correct?
06:15Because that's what the ME is saying.
06:16The ME won't do it.
06:17But see, that's the thing.
06:18They're saying it's natural causes.
06:20But if they say that, why is there a death investigation?
06:23Then there shouldn't be an investigation, correct?
06:25Because you've already ruled it as natural causes.
06:26And I don't want to overplay this because sometimes they do it this way.
06:30Yeah.
06:30But the detective who is in charge of this is part of the homicide division.
06:35And we're not saying it's a murder or anything like that.
06:38But they're taking it seriously.
06:40They just won't explain it.
06:42I'm Ty Wilson in Denver, Colorado.
06:44And it's hard to believe that Hulk Hogan could have passed away from a small mistake like this.
06:48But beyond that, I think it's more interesting to hear that the family is claiming these medical malpractice theories or talking about them.
06:58And they have an autopsy, but they're not sharing the results.
07:01It makes me wonder, are they going to take this to court?
07:03And what exactly might those legal battles look like in the future if they do?
