Product title specifications for catalogs
You must include a title for each product in your catalog. Titles help customers form a first impression of the products they see in your ads and shop on Facebook and Instagram. Follow these specifications for product titles.
Requirements for product titles:
- The maximum title length is 200 characters. We recommend using less than 65 characters to avoid longer titles displaying as cut off.
- Don't include extra words or keyword stuffing. An example of keyword stuffing is "Eco-friendly Pastry Tools Stainless Steel Dumpling Maker Wrapper Dough Cutter Pie Ravioli Kitchen."
- Describe the product accurately.
- Avoid profanity and offensive language.
Recommendations for product titles:
- Titles should be concise, meaningful and shorter than the product description.
- Use correct spelling, grammar and spacing between words.
- Format titles in title case, meaning you capitalize the first letter of each word. Don't use all caps for certain words or entire titles. People may associate this with spam or misleading marketing.
- Use numerals, such as “2” instead of “two."
- Don't include promotional messages such as “Sale” or “Free Shipping." Titles should only describe the product itself, not other aspects of your business. Add other information in the relevant fields for the product instead.
- Don't include subjective phrases such as “Hot Item," “Bestseller” or “Great Gift."
