Chestnut-tailed Starling or Grey-headed Myna (Sturnia malabarica) is a member of the starling family of perching birds. It is a resident or partially migratory species found in wooded habitats in India and Southeast Asia.
The species name is after the distribution of a former subspecies in the Malabar region. This resident population has a white head and is often treated as a full species, the Malabar starling (Sturnia blythii).
DO YOU KNOW - Ruppell’s Griffon Vulture is the highest flying bird ever recorded. Flying at an altitude of 37000 ft.

Another image taken last week during another birding session at Hunter Wetlands Center (Shortland, NSW; Australia) with long time friend and fellow flickr tog Joe Micallef.
Hope you like it!
Thanks always for any comments, views or favorites for any of my images - appreciated!
Have a terrific day and weekend everyone.
A rework of an image from some time ago.
Still very busy but I will try to catch up with your images this afternoon/evening. Normal service will resume on Wednesday.
This Cape May Warbler was by far the most active Warbler in my friends backyard. He guards all the jelly feeders from other warblers.

So much hate and anger going on, I needed a respite from the ugliness. Snowy Plovers today were the answer for me. Love, love, love these little guys. Thanks for being there for me little ones.
Very slow day at Coyote Hills, but this beautiful 'museum' of Cedar Waxwings saved the day. I love that word to describe them.
I was astounded at the water levels at the park today. The water just past the entrance kiosk is very close to the road. Never ever seen it so high!!
