"Timi-Suite the only datatool you need."
What do you like best about TIMi?

Best part about the Timi Suite is the Anatella software to transform big data really fast.

The tool is very intuitive and fast to learn. After you've learned the tool, you can easily make graphs to transform data faster than it is to write code in other programs.

Anatella was the standard tool for me to come back to, to do data transformations or to use to do fast data analysis for the business. I used the tool daily for over 7 years;

The tool was easy to install, and there's a pdf manual you always have access to.

The people at Timi are also very helpfull and friendly. There were occasions where e-mailed them with certain questions on how to do stuf in Timi, and i received an answer really fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TIMi?

There wasn't a thing that I disliked about the Timi Suite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Timi is an excellent and user friendly Data Science tool. But it's much more than just that."
What do you like best about TIMi?

User friendly, the compatabilty with even the most exotic file formats and it's overall performance. But the support by the Timi team is the real star here, it's unlike any other I have seen. Quick to respond and getting you underway without delays. In a world where many products deliver similar services, the support is the one way a product can shine above all others. What do you dislike about TIMi?

Did not discover anything that I dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Graph mining on large production network"
What do you like best about TIMi?

Anatella is a very intuitive and user friendly tool that processes very large data files in a extremelly efficient way. Not being an expert in coding, I really find the graphical approach to light coding of Anatella very intuitive. Not only you can make all the advanced analysis in graph mining (community detection, infections, shortest path lengths between all pairs of nodes), but the speed at which is is done is incredible.

The manipulation of very large datasets is also very efficient.

I also appreciate the dedication of their customer support which are very responsive.

I only used the graph mining tools but I'm eager to try all the other tools available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TIMi?

I still have to discover what I dislike about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Frank Vanden Berghen of TIMi

Dear Emmanuel,

Many Thanks for the kind comments about TIMi!

I particularly like your last sentence when you compare the speed of Databricks (Scala code) versus TIMi. This type of numeric and objective comparison is useful for many readers.

May i add to your review that you wrote me (inside a private email) that that you did try during 3 months with Databricks to get the results that you actually got in 18 hours with Anatella/TIMi? ...And, from what I understood, these 18 hours do actually include the time required to install TIMi/Anatella on your PC, learn Anatella, design the different Anatella flows and run them!

Also, in your review, this is not really a fair comparison because we are comparing TIMi running on a simple PC versus Scala running on the whole Databricks in Azure cluster from the whole "National Bank of Belgium" (and that's a big cluster running since a few years already). On that note, I think that would be interesting to know the RAM memory consumption of each tool!? My guess is: Around 4GB RAM for TIMi and 200GB on each node for Databricks! 😁😁

Also, if you are interested about more in-depth speed comparison between Databricks and TIMi, you can have a look at this github repository where we ran these 2 tools against a standard academic benchmark (tpc-h). (Spoiler: TIMi running on 1 server is faster than Databricks running on more than 100 nodes):

https://github.com/Kranf99/TPC-H-Benchmarck-Anatella-Spark

I think that your contribution here will help many other open-minded data scientists (like yourself) to better chose the right tool for their job! Many thanks for that from the whole data science community ! 👍👍 You are doing the right thing.

...I won't conclude now that the best tool for any analytical job or any Big Data job is TIMi. ..But it's becoming really damn close! 😄 😜

"ANATELLA FOR REPORT AUTOMATION"
What do you like best about TIMi?

I work in a company in the healthcare sector, I am a big data professional and I use Anatella to automate reports and calculate indicators. The treatment I can implement is key to storing my information with a high percentage of accuracy in data processing, articulating the connection between the Oracle SQL database and Power BI to display the data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TIMi?

One of the disadvantages of Timi is the lack of information available online, whereas in tools like Oracle SQL, artificial intelligence aids can be included. Anatella only limits us to the manuals provided by Timi. My main suggestion is to upload more content to audiovisual platforms with practical cases of data cleaning and other activities, in order to speed up the learning process for professionals who are just starting to use the tool. It is also important to include more video tutorials addressing and incorporating the Python programming language, as most data professionals are familiar with this language and it facilitates the implementation of modeling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Daniel Soto Zeevaert of TIMi

Hello Alejandro, thank you for your positive evaluation and for the details on where to improve. For the video tutorials, if you visit our YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@TIMi1, you will find many videos and they are added periodically. We are aware that it was a limitation and we are investing in this area. I don't understand what you mean by "the very robust processes do not execute correctly": Anatella has been tested with billions of records, thousands of columns, and it always runs without error, there is no possibility that it delivers incorrect results. There are two cases in which a process can fail: 1) Lack of resources: - If a process does not execute due to lack of RAM, I recommend using normal joins, combined with Sort. In this way, it will never use more than 1-2 Gb of RAM and any process can run. - Lack of disk space: we always recommend having 4-5 times more disk space than the total volume of data to be processed. With 1 TB, you can handle compressed data of 200 Gb. That is equivalent to a table of 10,000,000,000 records x 10 columns, approximately. 2) Failures in external connections: In some cases, it may happen that external DB servers do not work (those do not depend on TIMi), in this case, Anatella will generate errors. If you install Jenkins (as described in the manual and detailed in the training provided) you can have process control. Regarding Python, although we allow the execution of native Python code (which is necessary, as it is the de-facto language in data science), it is important to highlight that we are neither developers nor providers of Python. There are many tutorials for this language. However, if there is a node in Anatella that performs the transformation you need, it will always be 20 to 40 times faster than Python code, and with a fraction of the resources. When difficulties or questions arise, do not hesitate to visit our forum and contact our support team, which is always available.

"Very powerfull ETL tool for large files"
What do you like best about TIMi?

I use sporadically the ETL part of the tool (Anatella) whenever I need to go through large files and when excel is giving up. The performance even on an entry range laptop- are really flabbergasting and outweight by far the response time of MS query on a similar machine.

Because the limitation of file size is alleviated, the analysis can be extended to larger data sets covering broader periods of time, thereby strengthening the findings and the analysis.

Once the skeleton of the query is built, is is fairly easy to refresh or adjust the baseline for side analysis.

The graphical representation of each elementary step is a great aid to support the logic of the query/analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TIMi?

The syntax is very rigourous and not very permissive (capital letter, data type), this is a price to pay for performance I guess.

Also, I would be great if the anatella graph could be printed (on a plotter) and I can't wait for a print function in the editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and powerful tool"
What do you like best about TIMi?

Anatella is a very versatile tool. The perfect balance between the automation capability of a code and the level of interaction you have with a good interface. This, along with computing power and cache usage, allows the freedom to explore the data and try various solutions until reaching the most satisfactory one, while at the same time, once obtained, it is easy to generalize the process, both to make it more automatic and to apply the same logic to different problems. On the other hand, Timi Modeler is an unprecedented tool. It provides a solution for creating predictive models when dealing with large volumes of data, which is fast, efficient, and adapts to the different levels of user expertise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TIMi?

One problem is the low presence in forums and tutorials. Despite being very intuitive, inevitably there are times when we encounter problems that require complex solutions, which tend to escape our current knowledge of the tool. In these circumstances, in the case of Timi, it is more difficult to find solutions in forums, and sometimes one has to settle for the manuals or turn to the official YouTube channels, which naturally are sometimes not enough. However, the Timi team is very willing to provide personalized support.

Another problem is the Kibella tool. It lacks a lot of development and is far below, even compared to free tools like Google Looker Studio, both in terms of interface and the solutions it provides. I think it has been incorporated into the suite prematurely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It is a tool that offers multiple solutions in a quick and agile manner."
What do you like best about TIMi?

The speed of data processing and the intuitiveness of the tool for configuring the procedures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TIMi?

That it does not have the translation of its platforms into Spanish. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Daniel Soto Zeevaert of TIMi

Thank you Luis! You are absolutely right, it would be great to have a version in multiple languages! The good news is that I was confirmed by development that it's coming, hopefully by the end of this year. Spanish will clearly be one of the first languages included.

"easy-to-use user interface"
What do you like best about TIMi?

It seems to me that the tool is very versatile for using and learning to create prediction models with both Python and RStudio. The best part is that the parameterization is very simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TIMi?

Not applicable. It seems to me that the tool is very versatile to use and learn how to create prediction models with both Python and RStudio. The best part is that the parameterization is very simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Daniel Soto Zeevaert of TIMi

Thank you for the evaluation. RStudio is another development tool in R, which can be downloaded for free, and allows the development and execution of code in R. I imagine you are referring to the predictive analysis nodes based on R? In this case, you will like the update coming at the end of this month and it will include several surprises in those nodes!

"Data Flow Optimization Using ANATELLA"
What do you like best about TIMi?

I am surprised by the processing capacity of the tool and the ease of developing loading processes using different volumes of information. I consider that it has great potential and now I am testing Timi Modeler to be able to migrate my use cases to this tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TIMi?

I don't particularly dislike anything, as an opportunity for improvement I would think that suddenly the support part in the forums for some specific or casuistic queries, but nothing serious Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cobot it CTO : An amazing all in one ETL solution !"
What do you like best about TIMi?

Intuitiveness : By far the most intuitive solution have been able to test

Interoperability : Everything you need to connect with is native and ready to use. Something missing ? create your own transformation block in javascript, python or whatever code you like.

Speed : Process millions of records in sec, it's just incredible how fast you get your result

Support documentation : The contextual documentation provides very detailed step by step tutos and examples

You're stuck : The support team is really smart, customer oriented and reactive Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TIMi?

Nothing that I've been able to spot at this time. I have to say that TIMi solution is really stable and mature. We've spent days to review/analyze the ETL state of art. We quickly ended up picking TIMi which turned out being a good fit for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
