Bulk actions allow you to complete the same action across multiple ad sets at one time. With bulk actions, you can change or set the status of multiple ad sets within the same campaign.
Currently, you can:

Pause active ad sets

Archive completed ad sets
-
Activate or archive paused ad sets

Pause archived ad sets
To set the status of multiple ad sets as a bulk action:

Go to your ad account in Campaign Manager.

Click Advertise on the left menu.

Select the correct campaign.

Select the checkbox to the left of the ad set names you want to include in the bulk action.

Click the Set Status
button in the navigation above the ad set table. -
Click the action in the dropdown.
The status of the selected ad sets will change to the new status.
| Error Message | Reason |
| Ad set needs to be updated | Ad set could not be activated as changes need to be made. Updates could include an expired bid, your start or end date may not be set in the future, or the ad set may be set to run continuously. |
| Ad set is canceled | Status changes cannot be made to a canceled ad set. |
| Ad set is currently active | You cannot activate or archive an already active ad set. |
| Ad set is in draft mode | You cannot change status using bulk actions when ad set is in draft mode. |
| Ad set is completed | You cannot activate a completed ad set. |
| Ad set is archived | You cannot archive or activate an archived ad set. |
| Ad set is paused | Your ad set is already paused. |
| Ad set could not be updated | The API failed or there was another unknown issue when updating the ad set. |

Bulk actions can’t be applied to ad sets in the Draft status.

Ad sets in the Completed status can only be set to the Archived status.

Ad sets in the Archived status can only be set to the Paused status.

Ad sets in the Paused status can be set to the Active or Archived statuses.
