Use LinkedIn audience templates to create an ad set audience

Last updated: 1 week ago

LinkedIn audience templates are sets of pre-populated targeting options that help advertisers reach their targeted audiences. You can apply an audience template to a new ad set when you set up your audience in the ad set creation flow.

To select an audience template when building your ad set:

  1. Go to your ad account in Campaign Manager.

  2. Click Advertise on the left menu.

  3. In the Campaign tab, click the campaign name that you'd like to create your ad set in.

  4. In the Ad sets tab, click the Create button, then click Ad set.

  5. Confirm the campaign, then click Next. Choose the objective you'd like for your ad set.

  6. In the Audience section, click the Audiences dropdown.

  7. Search for a template and select an option from the dropdown or click See all audiences. If you choose See all audiences:

    1. Confirm the Audience Templates tab is selected at the top.
    2. Select a template from the list and click Select Audience in the top right.
    3. Click OK to confirm that this template will replace all current targeting selections.
  8. In the Audience section, you’ll see all the pre-populated targeting selections for that audience template.

    • To edit fields, click the pencil icon next to it.
    • To delete all selections for a field, click the pencil icon, then click Remove all attributes.
  9. To save your new audience, click Save audience at the bottom of the section, name your audience, then click Save as new.

Here's a tip

When you make changes to audience fields after selecting an audience template, the changes you make won't edit the template itself. To keep those changes, you'll need to save your audience.
