Barrel 007 is a barrel that appears in the Donkey Kong Country television series episodes "Barrel, Barrel... Who's Got the Barrel" and "Bluster's Sale Ape-Stravaganza". It is used for special deliveries sent by the Barrel Rocket from Bluster Barrelworks.
History[edit]
"Barrel, Barrel... Who's Got the Barrel"[edit]
After Bluster Kong steals the Crystal Coconut to try to impress Candy Kong, he is knocked by a mechanism at Bluster Barrelworks. This causes him to drop the Coconut, which falls onto a treadmill leading to the area where defective barrels are broken up. Bluster chases after it but is knocked back. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong arrive and pursue the Coconut as well. Diddy kicks it to DK, prompting Bluster to try to grab it from him. DK then throws the Coconut to Candy, but she fails to catch it, and it ends up inside Barrel 007. DK, Diddy, and Bluster panic when they realize the barrel is scheduled for transport in a Barrel Rocket. DK and Diddy attempt to stop the rocket before it launches but fail, leaving them frustrated.
At King K. Rool's lair, General Klump reports that the Crystal Coconut has been sent into the air via the Barrel Rocket. K. Rool orders him to retrieve it before anyone else can.
Back at Bluster Barrelworks, Bluster refuses to tell DK and Diddy where the barrel was headed. As they begin to leave, he hints that they should check the beach.
After they leave, Klump and two Kritters storm into the Barrelworks and demand to know the Rocket Barrel's destination. When Bluster refuses to answer, Klump steals the dispatch log and learns it was sent to Funky's Flights for Funky Kong. The Kremlings then head there.
After a long search of the beach, DK and Diddy grow tired and decide to visit Funky's Flights for a break. Inside, Funky shows Diddy his newest invention, the Couch Potato Cruiser, while DK searches the fridge for bananas but finds none. Funky explains that Barrel 007 was delivered to him filled with bananas, but when he opened it, it was empty. He attempted to return it to the Barrelworks in his plane, but during a barrel roll, it fell out over the White Mountains. Funky then flies DK and Diddy to the mountains to search for it, unaware that Bluster secretly follows in the Barrelcopter.
Upon arriving in the White Mountains, DK and Diddy hear loud banging from a nearby cave. Inside, they find Eddie the Mean Old Yeti repeatedly hitting Barrel 007 with his club. They attempt to retrieve it, but Eddie runs off with the barrel. After chasing him, they offer him a deal: the barrel in exchange for a match. Eddie agrees, but burns himself and becomes enraged, chasing them instead. During the escape, DK and Diddy fall into a hole and drop the barrel, allowing Bluster to retrieve it.
Bluster declares he will return the Coconut himself to become the hero, but Klump arrives and demands the barrel. When Klump orders the Kritters to aim their Klap-Blasters at him, Bluster tries to hands it over. Klump gladly remarks that "[he] won't have to say fire", which the Kritters misinterpret as an order and begin firing wildly. When he tells them to stop and says that when "[he] said fire, [he] didn't mean fire", they misinterpret him again and continue shooting. Some of the Klap Traps launched from the Klap-Blasters devour Bluster's Banana Flip. Shocked, Bluster accidentally knocks Barrel 007 into the hole, where Eddie catches it.
DK and Diddy once again attempt to retrieve the barrel, but Eddie refuses. Meanwhile, Klump decides to return to the lair and blame the failure on the Kritters. DK and Diddy later spot the Kritters driving past in a mine cart. They eventually recover the barrel from Eddie and secretly follow the Kritters back to the lair. There, Klump falsely claims to K. Rool that the Kritters abandoned him, but the Kritters storm in with the barrel. One of them places it onto the Supersonic Satellite, and K. Rool announces that it is time for launch. As the satellite is moved into position using mine carts, DK and Diddy hide in one ahead of them. K. Rool begins the countdown, but DK and Diddy intervene. Diddy retrieves the Coconut from Barrel 007, and the two escape. K. Rool insists the satellite will still launch due to a backup power source, but it fails and the satellite breaks apart. Furious, K. Rool chases after Klump.
"Bluster's Sale Ape-Stravaganza"[edit]
After K. Rool's device flings Cranky into Barrel 007, the barrel is transported into a Barrel Rocket. DK and Diddy chase after the rocket in the Barrelcopter. The rocket drops the barrel off, and it rolls into King K. Rool's lair. DK retrieves it and begins taking it back to Bluster Barrelworks. However, due to the limited time, DK throws it there, and Cranky arrives exactly on the chair for the commercial awake.
Naming[edit]
