A status icon displayed when inflicted with the Flipped status effect in Super Paper Mario.

Flipped, also known as Backwards Curse[1] and reverse curse,[2] is a status ailment in Super Paper Mario. While in the state, the controls on +Control Pad will be reversed for a short time, similar to the effect of Grim Leechers from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. This includes the controls to navigate the menu while battling the Underchomp.

The effects of this status will wear off by either waiting for a short period of time, or using Piccolo, which will immediately cancel the effects.

This state can be inflicted by Reversya Cursyas and Dark Reversya Cursyas, as well as certain recipes such as a Dangerous Delight or a Love Pudding.
