Rabble - Fitness Through Games!
Rabble - Fitness Through Games!
We're fed up of boring, monotonous exercise - let's play ourselves fit! **TO BOOK**: It's essential that you book onto sessions via our website, using the link below; due to restrictions on games and preparation times we cannot accept walk-ins, or late arrivals. [https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/](https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/) Use the code **FREEPLAY** to get your first game free! *** Rabble is a fitness club with a difference: * Every 1 hour session is a mixture of team games, such as Capture the Flag, Frisbee or Kickball - no two sessions are alike! * We are SUPER friendly and often host socials after the game * All abilities are welcomed * Our aim is to have **FUN**, make **FRIENDS**, and get **FIT** without even noticing * Bring your friends along! Please come in comfortable sports clothing and bring a bottle of water and hand sanitizer. Trail shoes or studs (weather dependent) are recommended, or a good pair of trainers. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the session to allow us to start on time. We play every: * Monday in Highbury & Islington (19:00 - 20:00) * Tuesday in Shoreditch / Haggerston (19:00 - 20:00) * Wednesday in Elephant & Castle (19:00-20:00) * Saturday in Southwark Park (10:30 - 11:30) * Saturday in Finsbury Park (11:00 - 12:00) * Sunday in Clapham Common (12:00-13:00) We hope to see you playing soon! PS. We have a group of dedicated regulars, so numbers are usually much higher than Meetup might suggest. Book your place here: [https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/](https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/) **Love Rabble**
SOLD OUT • ST PANCRAS • SEASON 2 EPISODE 1: AGE | Thought Experiments in Pubs
SOLD OUT • ST PANCRAS • SEASON 2 EPISODE 1: AGE | Thought Experiments in Pubs
SEASON 2 at ST PANCRAS will begin with a theme I can't believe we haven't discussed already: "AGE" Join us for thought provoking conversations at the beautiful Betjeman Arms! Spaces are limited, so get your ticket early if you want to be there! 😊 **THOUGHT EXPERIMENTS** \- posted in the comments below on the day of the event **[WHATSAPP GROUP](https://chat.whatsapp.com/DapwAXpnOHO5DRYThobpe4)** \- stay in the loop **[INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/thoughtexperimentsinpubs/)** \- see what we look like \(including The People of TEiP project\) **[SUBSTACK](https://experimentsingroupwisdom.substack.com/)** \- sign up for the newsletter **The idea:** A chance to meet and talk at a 'deeper' level than 'small talk'. **How we'll do it** (timings approximate): * 7:00pm - Arrive at The Betjeman Arms. You can access the pub either from the street (entrance to the right of The St Pancras Hotel entrance) or via St Pancras Station (entrance from the upstairs train platforms). We'll be in the private dining room - ask at the bar if you can't find us. * Organise ourselves into small groups (3-6ish - apparently 4 is the best number for a good conversation!) * Have a look at the **thought experiments** (announced on the day of the event) * 7:15 - First rotation begins - Talk about the first thought experiment, but feel free to veer off topic. * 7:35 - Optional reshuffle: swap groups, move on to the second thought experiment. * 8:00 - Optional reshuffle: swap groups, move on to the third thought experiment. * 8:25pm - Wrap up - hear about upcoming events, feedback/requests for future meetups. * 8:30 Meetup ‘ends’. But feel free to carry on conversations. We have the room until 10pm and usually a lot of us stay until then :-) **Notes on the general atmosphere**: * The vibe is to let conversation flow rather than stick strictly to one topic. * While we'd like to talk about 'meaningful things', we also see the value in lighter topics, so don't worry about not being 'deep' enough! * Feel free to suggest ideas for future Thought Experiments in Pubs meetup groups, both in terms of structure and topics to discuss. **Where we'll meet**: This group will be at The Betjeman Arms. The nearest Tube station is King's Cross St. Pancras. You can access the pub either from the street (entrance to the right of The St Pancras Hotel entrance) or via St Pancras Station (entrance from the upstairs train platforms). We'll be in the private dining room - ask at the bar if you can't find us. **Who should come**: Everyone! We believe that the more perspectives, the richer the conversation. This group is not about being experts in Philosophy, it is about *doing* philosophy. That is, bringing our various life experiences and lenses on the world to group discussions about the human experience, the nature of reality... etc.... I'm so looking forward to meeting & talking with you in this beautiful new location :-) If you would like to support me & these meetups, you can do so here: [https://buymeacoffee.com/bonnyastor](https://buymeacoffee.com/bonnyastor) Thank you!

The wait is over—the Live Music Meetup is back for 2026, and we are keeping the momentum going! We are continuing our mission to champion the heartbeat of the city: the small independent venues and the incredible artists who keep the scene alive. This night is another massive celebration for **Independent Venue Week 2026**. We’re heading to the legendary **George Tavern**, a fiercely independent space that has stood the test of time. This week is all about backing the venues and the people behind the scenes who make live music possible—so let's show up, support the bar, and keep the indie spirit kicking! Tickets 👉👉👉 https://dice.fm/event/7dqk86-tgt-ivw-spanish-horses-august-jackson-roy-26th-jan-the-george-tavern-london-tickets ### **The Lineup** * **Spanish Horses:** [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-DVAThpemI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-DVAThpemI) Currently one of my fave bands! Originally formed in Paris and now taking over London, this five-piece brings a mature, atmospheric indie-rock sound. With influences ranging from The Smiths to The Velvet Underground, their sets are known for being cohesive, melodic, and full of raw energy. * **August:** [https://www.instagram.com/p/DTP6icKDOhf/](https://www.instagram.com/p/DTP6icKDOhf/) Bringing a fresh perspective to the IVW stage, August (by proxy) is one of those newer acts that perfectly embodies why we focus on the independent scene. Expect a sound that is both authentic and captivating. * **Jackson Roy:** [https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMfBQY9NVLm/](https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMfBQY9NVLm/) Known for high-energy performances that bridge the gap between artist and audience, Jackson Roy is a staple of the London underground. If you want to see someone who truly lives for the craft, this is the set to watch. Burst City (1982) - SOLD OUT
Burst City (1982) - SOLD OUT
Screening as part of the Garden Cinema's [1980s: The Lost Decade of Japanese Cinema](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCBVpNRwYBs) season, Burst City is both a dystopian look at Japan's future and an attempt to chronicle its punk rock present, complete with acting appearances by a load of real-life punks and performances by three bands from different Japanese punk scenes. The plot is essentially that two bands, each of which oversee Mad Max-style biker gangs, face off against each other and the cops as they look to protest the construction of a nuclear power plant. But the movie is more about its kinetic visuals and blast of rock n'roll, and also notable for being an early influence on the country's cyberpunk movement - the link to, say, Akira, isn't hard to spot. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxPPkDW3gr8 Tickets are now sold out, I'm afraid. If you did nab a ticket, the film starts at 8pm so let's see if we can grab a drink at the member's bar upstairs from 7.30pm and head in afterwards. \*So, in a way, it's Japan's [Jubilee](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3p_aJhUQMw)

So much energy in their music made for a fantastic night of singing and dancing. Can’t wait to see them again. Great night lads, well played." Marc Hanks** **"These guys were superb. Circa79. 3 sets of late 70s and early 80s, absolutely fu#@\*ng brilliant. Thoroughly recommend seeing them. Great evening of music." Dave Moffatt** **"Circa 79 isn’t just a cover band, they’re a time machine. With a setlist that blasts through Punk, Ska, New Wave and early 80s Electro Pop, Circa channel the chaos and charisma of the original scene. From The Clash to The Specials, via The Jam and Talking Heads, you are taken on a musical revisit of the late 70’s and early 80’s.** **They’ve nailed the sound and spirit, their gigs are alive. Crowds of old punks, rude boys, mods and goths pack out venues to skank, stomp, and singalong to Ant Music, Message in a Bottle, and Swords of a Thousand Men, with real gusto. It’s pure energy, It’s loud, It’s glorious.** **What sets Circa 79 apart is their love for the era, and the way they bring people together, in a joyful celebration of a time when music meant something." Jerry Lewis** **"We saw this group at The Cavern in Raynes Park on 7th February. They are absolutely amazing. Definitely a must see." Sharon Francis** **"Finally saw you guys at The Cavern Friday night and I have to say you were brilliant. Definitely coming to see you again and I will be bringing a good few people with me." Terry Waters** **"Great night as always CIRCA79 especially the dancing and the drinking bit " Tony Skilton** **"What can I say - another brilliant evening and the venue was fab as well. See you guys soon" John Malet De Carteret** **"Another fantastic weekend watching CIRCA79 @ The Nightingale in Sutton and The Swan West Wickham. Both venues were packed and shout out to the staff at both venues who kept the drinks flowing. Last night the band delivered a rip roaring 3 set performance full of classic punk, ska and rock/pop numbers which electrified the crowd into singing and dancing along with the thumping sounds from 4 talented musicians who not only perform but entertain and interact with the crowd. Newbies and followers, oldish and youngish alike, both enjoyed the night. Catch them where you can- there's a loads of gigs coming up so pop down to a venue and support the band." Henryk Mackiewicz** **"Amazing set - every part of my body hurts this morning!!! It was a real party!" Fiona Martinly** **"Superbo!! Had a great time, you smashed it!" Liz Bonini** **"I caught the two CIRCA79 gigs this weekend at The Nightingale and The Swan. This band is kicking it. Great concept, the music from the late 70’s to the early 80’s, which has led to the band performing an eclectic set of music, which is the soundtrack to my late teens.** **Plus on top of that their presentation, use of social media and being approachable to their audience. Yes, Circa have created a fun vibe, a good night out, but underpinned by a great set list.** **Really looking forward to seeing more of their gigs very soon, and making more of my friends aware of CIRCA79." Jerry Lewis** **"Great gig, well done Gents, I think everyone in da house enjoyed it." Grant Verrell** **"Cracking gig! Thanks lads! 24000 steps dancing!" Colette Mason** **"I invited two of my band mates, and they both agree with me, Circa are the role models for us. Kicking set, an audience of our generation, and a fun show, where the audience dance, sing, laugh and leave buzzing." Jerry Lewis** [www.facebook.com/CircaSeventyNine/](http://www.facebook.com/CircaSeventyNine/)

Milford to Haslemere- Surrey's heathland, quaint villages & Devils Punchbowl
HIGHTLIGHTS: * Remote heathland and picturesque lakes in pine & bracken forests * Bagmoor Common Nature Reserve with oak trees and Scots pine trees * Thursley Common Nature Reserve and Pudmore Pond with its diverse wildlife, boggy terrain and raised boardwalks * Views over Devils Punchbowl and Gilbert Hill * Greensand Way with fantastic views on our way to Haslemere. The area offers walking trails through marsh, woodland, and heath, through some muddy paths over a eerie terrain preserving delicate ecosystems. We will be walking over sandy paths through ancient established woodlands, heather and gorse and see evidence of bush fire in 2006 which has left a blackened moonscape. We then continue south up to Devils Punchbowl, a deep depression believed to be the result of erosion caused by spring water beneath the sandstone, causing the upper level to collapse. We continue on our way to Hindhead and Haslemere along the Greensand Way to end up in a pub for a deserved drink. Sharon Francis "Finally saw you guys at The Cavern Friday night and I have to say you were brilliant. Definitely coming to see you again and I will be bringing a good few people with me." Terry Waters "Great night as always CIRCA79 especially the dancing and the drinking bit " Tony Skilton "What can I say - another brilliant evening and the venue was fab as well. See you guys soon" John Malet De Carteret "Another fantastic weekend watching CIRCA79 @ The Nightingale in Sutton and The Swan West Wickham. Catch them where you can- there's a loads of gigs coming up so pop down to a venue and support the band." Henryk Mackiewicz "Amazing set - every part of my body hurts this morning!!! It was a real party!" Fiona Martinly "Superbo!! Had a great time, you smashed it!" Liz Bonini "I caught the two CIRCA79 gigs this weekend at The Nightingale and The Swan. This band is kicking it. Great concept, the music from the late 70’s to the early 80’s, which has led to the band performing an eclectic set of music, which is the soundtrack to my late teens. Plus on top of that their presentation, use of social media and being approachable to their audience. Yes, Circa have created a fun vibe, a good night out, but underpinned by a great set list. Really looking forward to seeing more of their gigs very soon, and making more of my friends aware of CIRCA79." Jerry Lewis "Great gig, well done Gents, I think everyone in da house enjoyed it." Grant Verrell "Cracking gig! Thanks lads! 24000 steps dancing! " Colette Mason "I invited two of my band mates, and they both agree with me, Circa are the role models for us. Kicking set, an audience of our generation, and a fun show, where the audience dance, sing, laugh and leave buzzing." Nusantara Beat - SOLD OUT (Waiting list available)
Nusantara Beat - SOLD OUT (Waiting list available)
\*\*As it says in the title, the tickets are now technically gone, but if you get on the list quickly, you should have a decent chance to nab one!\*\* I've been describing Nusantara Beat to people as the Indonesian Altin Gun, which is kind of true but not the whole story. They essentially blend trad Indonesian folk music (by way of Amsterdam) with elements of funk and psych rock - it's very 70s-ish to my ears, but also very danceable, which you don't see at every show. Here are some pseudo-live songs: Tamat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBNmVtan21I Sifat Manusia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9Hg9BGyL38 Bakat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHtBCJnKkqA Tickets are sub-£16 including booking fee and they're available [here](https://dice.fm/event/3oey9x-nusantara-beat-30th-jan-moth-club-london-tickets). Doors open at half seven so let's meet for a pre-drink at the Cock Tavern at seven and head in for the support band around eight.
