Abstract
We avoided migrating dbatools' 3,500+ Pester v4 tests for years because of the sheer volume. But I love working with AI and Claude Code is known for exceptional refactoring, so I combined it with PowerShell and automated 80% of the work while the rest was migrated manually. Claude made what felt like an impossible task manageable. Once we got through the bulk of it, the leftover work became approachable instead of overwhelming. The best part is it's a reusable pattern. When Pester v6 comes out, we won't put it off for years again. In this session, I'll show you how I set this up, where Claude excels, where it struggles, how you can build similar automation for your own large-scale refactoring projects and how much this all costs.
