Frequently Asked Questions about the SIXT+ Car Subscription
You can easily choose the start date of your car subscription in the first step of the online booking process. Once you have completed your booking, the selected date is also shown in the booking confirmation email and in the subscription view of your SIXT account. On the day of pick-up, you can collect your vehicle from 11am onwards.
After expiry of the minimum term, you can easily terminate your subscription by returning your vehicle to the SIXT branch. The return must be announced at least seven days in advance in your subscription, in the SIXT app or in your online account. Please note that returning the vehicle before the end of a 30-day billing period will not result in a pro-rata refund for unused days and returning the vehicle before the end of your chosen minimum term will not reduce the term of the contract without a corresponding charge.
The level of protection is completely up to you. In the subscription configuration, you can select the protection option optimally fitting your needs.
The SIXT+ car subscription covers all individual mobility needs flexibly, easily, and at short notice. That's why we offer a wide selection of different vehicle groups, from small cars to premium SUVs. All vehicles in our fleet are new or as good as new, generously equipped, and categorized into groups based on comparable characteristics. There is no guarantee for a specific desired model from the booked group.
Certain regulations apply to the minimum age and driving license possession, which depend on the respective vehicle and are displayed in the online booking process. In general, the minimum age for every driver is 21 years, except for rentals in the state of New York, where the minimum age to rent a vehicle is 18 years. A deviation from the minimum age is possible depending on the vehicle. An additional fee (young driver surcharge) is charged for drivers under the age of 25.
All our SIXT+ vehicles are new or as good as new. Each vehicle is also professionally cleaned before handover.
Credit and debit cards from all internationally recognized providers (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB) are accepted as means of payment. Debit cards are not accepted for any luxury vehicles (sedans or SUVs), extraordinary vehicles (sedans or SUVs), and fullsize SUVs. Payment with prepaid or Maestro cards is not possible. The means of payment must be issued in the name of the driver, presented on vehicle pick-up and valid for at least 30 days. In addition, depending on the vehicle category, a security deposit will be authorized.

Only applicable on the following groups: JCAR (BMW 2 series), RFAR (BMW X3), JFAR (BMW X1), GFAR (BMW X5), GCAR (Mercedes-Benz C-Class), UCAR (BMW 5 series), GEAR (BMW 4 series Coupe), GTAR (BMW 4 series convertible). Discount valid for bookings and pick up until February 28th, 2026. The discount will be applied to the payment method selected for the subscription at the end of each 30-day period. There is no entitlement to a cash payment. All prices include taxes and fees. Additional charges may apply at certain locations. All Sixt+ applications require Sixt review for approval before commencement of a Sixt+ Subscription. One month is equivalent to a period of 30 days; plus a one-off, one-time, sign-up fee of 199.00 USD; insurance coverage will depend on the package selected. Your rental includes a specific amount of mileage depending on your electing in your application. Costs for fuel are not included. Geographical restrictions apply. You can elect to add optional products by paying an additional amount in the application process, or add them during your subscription, per the Sixt+ terms and conditions. An exchange of the vehicle for another vehicle model is possible on request, subject to availability. The fee is £49 per customer-initiated exchange process and applies regardless of whether it is a vehicle model from the same or a higher / lower vehicle category. A minimum duration of 30 days applies. Upon expiration of the minimum duration, the contract is automatically extended a month at a time, up to a maximum of 3 months (90 days). You are entitled to terminate the contract at any time by returning the vehicle to your selected Sixt branch in your application. The act of returning the vehicle to said branch is considered termination of the existing subscription with effect from the end of the 30 day-billing period during which time the vehicle was returned. Please note that the image and the vehicle specifications shown are merely illustrative of the category in question (subject to errors). It is only possible to make a reservation for a category, not for a specific vehicle. The information provided is based on the smallest model available in the category.
