An Accountable Care Organization (ACO) is a group of doctors and healthcare providers who voluntarily work together to improve care for their patients while reducing unnecessary costs.
Unlike traditional fee-for-service models, ACOs reward physicians for keeping people healthy—not just for providing more services. At PBACO, we take that a step further by giving doctors ownership, voice, and the technology to lead.
PBACO was established in 2012 by a group of independent physicians in Palm Beach County who came together to form one of the first physician-owned ACOs in the Medicare Shared Savings Program. Since then, we’ve expanded nationwide, consistently leading in performance and demonstrating that a physician-first approach is not only sustainable—but also the most effective path to better care and lasting success. We continue to advance models that put doctors and patients at the center of care.
At PBACO, practicing physicians lead the way—shaping strategy and driving decisions alongside a team of seasoned experts in operations, technology, population health, and compliance. Our board and leadership team collaborate closely with member physicians to ensure strategy and services align with real-world needs.
