Rúben Amorim, born in 1985, is a Portuguese football manager and former player who was announced as the new manager of Premier League club Manchester United in November 2024. As a player Amorim spent most of his career at Benfica and Belenenses and represented his country on the international stage before retiring in 2017. He began his coaching career at Casa Pia before moving to Braga and, most recently, Sporting CP where he served as manager from 2020-2024. He led the club to win both the Taca da Liga and the Primeira Liga and was awarded the Primeira Liga’s Manager of the Year award for the 2020-2021 season.
