My take at this year event! Mandatory readme, used as a journal.
Little bit disappointed at the speed of my solution for part two, there might be a way to get better speed...
I tried to anticipate part 2... that was a bad idea, I just wasted my time. Lesson learned.
Here is a small peak at my brain notes for part 2:
While this look like gargabe, it was actually super helpful to put my "thoughts" on paper so I could nail down the proper filters in highest12.
It feels nice to have a very fast solution, as opposed to yesterday hehehe.
Garbage code today, happens.
Lost a bit of time on a silly idea, nevermind! Reading by columns was easier than I thought it would be.
Also, completely missed the star wars reference.
First solution for part 2 was naive would probably have taken a few days to run. After a quick look at the subreddit, Found a nice animation that inspired me. Was easier than expected! A bit disappointed I have not thought of the solution in the first place, but I guess it is fine getting a little help.
For some reason, I tried to over-complicate the problem, and wasted quite a lot of time (you can tell but the time I commit this) on P1. Then, I did a mistake in a map-chain and was unable to solve the example. Took me quite a lot of debugging to pinpoint the issue.
Part 2 was very easy with this implementation, I was afraid I would have to optimize everything when I say the terminal stuck on P1 answer, but hopefully it only lasted a couple of secs.
Part 2 is missing uughhh...
