This page proposes some milestones in the development of the Mwmbl software and organisation. This is a work-in-progress, and conditions to reach each milestone are subject to revision.

This is the point where we have demonstrated web-scale indexing, and good quality retrieval. At this point, we will have demonstrated our ability to build a web-scale search engine. We will be happy asking for donations from this point onward.

Conditions:

• Index coverage: at least 80% of top 10 results across queries in our test dataset are included in our index
• Search quality: NDCG score of at least 0.7 on our test dataset
• Able to accept donations, e.g. through a platform such as Patreon

Once we have reached search quality maturity, we will start asking for donations. Once we have reached a critical number of supporters, we will form a non-profit organisation.

Conditions:

• Search quality maturity
• At least 100 supporters paying at least $1 a month
• Decision on the best type of non-profit to form and its legal location
