btw, when I made the PR originally 2.4 wasn't released yet, but now it's available it might make more sense using cabal-install-2.4 as it's fixed a few issues that were still present in 2.2

Just a couple of questions so I understand why we're making some changes:

In the earlier version, nvm install 8 would install a new nodejs version. Is the deb.nodesource.com a better approach here?

what's the advantage of using docker here? does this allow the build to get further?
