KPOP DEMON HUNTERS SLAY WITH 'GOLDEN'
The KPop Demon Hunters single ‘Golden’ returns to #1 on this week’s Top 40 thanks in part to a new David Guetta remix, while the soundtrack stays at #1 for a third (non-consecutive) week on the Albums Chart. There are seven new entries to this week's Singles Chart, including five by Pasifika reggae / R&B superstar George Veikoso a.k.a Fiji, who passed away last week. The record originally peaked at #2 in May 2005, beaten at the time to #1 by Fat Freddy’s Drop’s seminal Based On A True Story, which is also back in the Aotearoa Albums Chart following the passing of group founder Mu. A reissue of Goodshirt's 2001 album Good charts at #3, and there are also new entries from Soft Bait, No Cigar and Jujulipps.
Te Wehi and Hori Shaw top this week's Hot 20 NZ Singles with their collaboration ‘Ready To Ride’, which lands at #4 on the Aotearoa Singles Chart – while Te Wehi remains at #1 with Unaware. Drake and Central Cee similarly lead the Hot 40 Chart with the collab ‘Which One’. The track is Drake's 18th Hot Chart #1, approaching Ariana Grande’s record of 19.
