Tane Tomoko was born November 7, 1961 in Nagaokakyo, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. She is a singer, songwriter and arranger. She graduated from the Department of Literature at Doshisha University, majoring in Philosophy. She is best friends with Arai Akino, another singer songwriter and is the mother of two children.
Tane took part in an audition while still being in University in 1984 and won, getting her a contract with Sony Music Entertainment, in the following year she debuted with "You're The One" an image song for the All Nippon Airways. In the '90s she also began working as arranger. 2006 she had their most prominent work, being chosen as singer and writer for the theme song of Kumazawa Naoto's film Rainbow Song.
