Several recommendations here warned that Gilgamesh might be hard to follow. It demands unflagging attention from the start.
Why "Gilgamesh"? Uruk, ruled by Gilgamesh, was, arguably, the birthplace of agriculture. The ability to hoard food freed humanity from relentless hunting for the next meal. Uruk, then, was also the birthplace of humanity's eternal struggle to apply this new-found power (freedom) wisely: control of the self (artistic control) vs. the control of others.
The anime, Gilgamesh, documents the escalation of one such conflict.
Ultimately, creative self-expression is more fun than being a cunt-troll freak dominating others.
